Are all the profiles fake?

I registered (due to clever advertising) a month or so ago and since then I have been getting 3 or 4 private messages and invitations to meet daily.
Of course before I can proceed I would need to upgrade my account which I have no intention of doing but, are all these people "contacting" me fake?
If I did login to one of these fake accounts, what would I find?

I stupidly paid for a membership, you will get more of the same! Funny how every username that gets in "contact" always have a number in the username, ie. sexygirl02 or sexyfun4u,obviously computer generated! and all hail from the same city! not your own city! ect, scammers from Jamaica! avoid at all costs!
