Do yourself a HUGE favor. Stay far far away. I had 2 M15x's. Both had been nothing but issues, loud, broken fans, overheating issues. Sent the one back to dell for a total replacement after my GPU burned up and both fans. Sent me another one and had CPU overheating issues then the screen went. It was nothing but a headache to say the least and I'm the furthest thing from a hardcore gamer.

Dell used to offer some sick coupons back in the day, but I'm not so sure if they do anymore. I'll give my usual shill for Asus though. Top quality and decent prices.

Sorry to here Choopa. I haven't heard too much about the more recent notebooks having issues. I remember the older Alienware notebooks having problems like gpu chips melting and that kinda stuff. On a related note, I had a Dell of my own with the gpu burning out. Was replaced after a class action settlement. I'm sort of iffy about recommending Dells now though. On one hand, the gpu shouldn't have died like it did. On the other hand, this thing still works fine after 6 or 7 years.

I have 2 dells I have been using for some time and I read the same about AW before Dell bought them. But seen nothing but good things since.

Thanks either way.

Do school discounts apply?

I may be able to try and get my brothers for you.

I have three Alienware, one m18x, one m15x, and my aurora. I'm in Budeapest on my M15x. Never had a problem.

A computer is a computer is a computer. They are all made the same way; I bet you half of them are made in the same plant.

Have you tried fatwallet or some other coupon code site?

Finally found a 50$ one and used that.

Im not positive but I believe its Asus that makes the parts for 90% of all computers.

Someone above mentioned them but the closest computer asus had to what I got was 200$ more with a bit less to it.

I had one of the original Alienware laptops just before they were bought by Dell, and that computer was well built and had a nice full keyboard. I played all kinds of games and earned a master's degree with that thing, but I've heard nothing but bad things about them ever since Dell took over. Since then I have only bought ASUS laptops and netbooks and they have been very good to me, I do miss having the glowing alien heads on my laptops though.

Our CFO is here in Budapest with us and she has an Asus laptop... It's really nice, super small, six hour battery life.... I think I want one.
