Who, the AT litigators ?

Oh, the irony.
Microsoft is crying about Google's 'monopoly' - when themselves were accused of monopolizing the desktop OS market back in the day. Karma, karma. |

How is Google a monopoly? There are other search engines. Yahoo used to be much bigger than Google and is now starting to make a comeback. Bing is also doing better. It isn't like you are forced to use Google and there are no other choices.

I know that. Microsoft doesn't seem to agree. http://news.yahoo.com/ballmer-calls-...230533249.html |
So I googled "microsoft" and the search results were 19,385,461 pages of douche-bags ?

The funny thing is if you go to Alexa they show Google, of course, as the biggest site on the internet, but Yahoo is #4. Windows Live is #9 while Bing is #19. I think they are pissed because Google is part of the internet Lexicon. People will say, "Just Google it." When they are telling people to search for things and it is going to take a lot of hard work to change that. I also have a feeling they are mad because Android succeeded in taking down the mighty Apple when it comes to cell phones, but when they went up against them with the Zune, the iPod kicked their asses. |
Scroogle says it from those who know.
|
Doubtful.
|
When you go to Google to search for something, all you see is the same simple thing you've been seeing for years. But the power is under the hood.
other search engines could learn something from that. Some of them have, but its too late. |
Monopolies never last, no matter how simply it's sold.

It ripped off iOS wholesale at Steve Jobs said. It also gives preferential treatment to all its services in product in search. If you want to see a good reasoning, read the DOJ brief on why they blocked the AT&T T-Mobile merger even though there's Sprint and Verizon. Aaron Wall of SEOBook also documents pretty well the dirty games Google plays with search. |
I love Goooogle! They helped me to buy my car. If I was relying in bing and yahoo I still wouldn't be able to afford a tire lol

Google image is a straight ripoff of Bing images. Google's links use to be on top the search bar and no left side bar. Real time social feeds, pre-visualization all features first implemented by Bing. You could argue as Google did that Bing copied search results but feature wise it's been the other way around for quite some time. |
Bing looks like my Windows 8 login. I can't trust that either.

if we are going on interface alone... id say bing stole googles homepage idea. they just added a hi-res background image to jazz it up. when google rolls out features is hard to tell, because not all features go out to all users at the same time. some are just seen by a few for testing reasons. |
Google indeed have monopoly behavior, but not against other search engines,it's simply some sort of abuse of their position. While they are indeed best search engine, problem is when they put on some se keywords on first positions their own products which make it impossible for other people to get traffic on certain keywords. And they say then how other providers "is just a click away"which means nothing as 99% of surfers dont click more then first 5 or 10 results.Only way to make it fair it would be to add special category which would search google properties and not display them on regular search.
