Recommend a good scary movie for me and my friends.

This coming Halloween, me and my friends were thinking of having a Scary Movievideo fest. Since my friend's family are leaving for in-laws' place, we'll be staying at his house doing nothing but sitting our asses down and watching horror movies (along with some beer, fried chicken, pizza, chips and some good weed). I'd definitely include A Serbian Movie in the mix, but I was kinda looking for new fare. And not the usual supernatural dreck that's being shown in the multiplexes. You know any good horror movie? And it has to be in Netflix.

The scariest movie I have seen in a few years is The Descent. It's a few years old, but give it a go if you haven't watched it yet.

Some classics if you haven't seen them all:

- The Exorcist (my personal favorite)
- Evil Dead 2
- The Shining
- Poltergeist
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre

More recent:

- The Ring
- Nightmare on Elm Street remake
- Insidious
- [rec]

Anything with Nicholas Cage trying to act ;) lol...

More serious, try...

Insidious
Orphan
Sinister
The original japanese version of the Ring
The uninvited
Dead Silence (personal favourite!)

I would leave a wide berth around [rec] worst film I've seen all year.

I haven't been scared by a movie since I was 6 and saw the wizard of oz. :) Too many claim they're scary but just rely on startling you with sudden visuals and sounds. The classic horror films like the Exorcist are a better idea I think if you want to feel scared rather than startled.
