Man, they're really in over their heads...time to give it up and just accept the fact the there's always gonna be terrorism, no matter how many people we bomb.

Libertine 02-28-2003 10:10 PM

It seems the terrorists won after all...

MetaMan 02-28-2003 10:11 PM

screw this just let racists run the airlines

robfantasy 02-28-2003 10:42 PM

they already do this, just with different colors: black, brown and yellow.

Yeah, no shit.

So fess up: who here can honestly see themselves not being allowed aboard an airplane in the near future?

Mr.Fiction 02-28-2003 11:13 PM

Bush wants less government, remember! :1orglaugh

KRL 02-28-2003 11:14 PM

At the rate the airline industry is going, there won't be any planes running soon anyway. :1orglaugh

I'm just waiting for the day someone tells us we have to have barcodes tatooted on our farheads.

Bush is living proof that shit floats to the top.

If it will keep one terrorist off an airplane, I'm all for it. Don't do anything wrong, and you won't have any problems. :2 cents:

Paul Markham 02-28-2003 11:56 PM

When I was returning to Czech last January, the computer at JFK decided to pull me out for a random thorough search. The two Arab looking students behind me were not.

When I asked the guy searching me luggage how many white, middle aged, business men had been terrorists or hijacked planes? He told me I did not understand the situation and was racist.

I doubt if he could spell terrorism.

What is the point if the guys doing the checking are not allowed to pull out the most likely suspects?

Bush is about to go to war on a suspicion.

ronin 03-01-2003 12:04 AM

what's next?

lEricPl 03-01-2003 12:10 AM

Holy Shit.

The system, ordered by Congress after the Sept. 11 attacks, will gather much more information on passengers than has been done previously. Delta Air Lines will try it out at three undisclosed airports beginning next month, and a comprehensive system could be in place by the end of the year.

Transportation officials say a contractor will be picked soon to build the nationwide computer system, which will check such things as credit reports and bank account activity and compare passenger names with those on government watch lists.

This is FUCKED!

No Shit Man... Too Funny!!

What really makes me laugh is only the government can combine, what? 30 some agencies and come out costing more. The reason you conglomerate is to save!

notion 03-01-2003 12:14 AM

I don't get the emphasis on protecting airliners. The 'terrorists' know they can?t get past our shit (now); I just don't know why we keep funneling money into shit that is already protected, however, I think the extra money that would be saved should be going toward giving every household a roll of duct tape :thumbsup

I can only accept this arguement if the laws a very narrow and only target terrorism. How many people have been busted for having a joint in thier luggage.

You know what would also help to reduce "terrorism"? How about having the police search everyone's house every day and making a curfew where no one can go out after dark? How about having the military patrol the streets of every city and having random searches of all citizens anywhere they go? How about lie detector tests and interrogations for 10% of the population each month? These actions would definitely help to reduce crime and fight terrorism, do you agree with them?

If the government were to take kids away from their parents at birth, and raise them to be real good Americans, ones who do not question or doubt their government, ever, that might help too.

Also, how about taking all guns away from people and limiting what people can say, after all, what if these commie anti-war protesters are actually encouraging terrorists?

Why not just declare a police state, what would make you just as safe as you want to be, right?

It's amazing what some people are willing to give up out of fear.

At least the terrorist won't have to "hate us for our freedom" anymore when this administration is done. :1orglaugh

:1orglaugh :1orglaugh at the duck tape.....

You're 100% right. Anyone of us here if we were on a plane and some assholes jumped up we would attack them right away.

and btw what the heck does YOUR credit report have to do with your wanting to fly from <wherever> to Las Vegas for a bit of fun??

I might be a blonde but DAYUM .. even *I* can see writing on the wall here.

He's not blowing anything out of proportion. That is exactly the direction this country is heading thanks to fucks like you.

Lizzie 03-01-2003 09:29 AM

It's just another way for your government to know when you last went to the bathroom.
Now you won't be able to fly anywhere without them knowing all your business. Bank accounts, etc.
Can some of you honestly say you don't "MIND" the snooping into your bank accounts, credit history, even parking tickets just to fly a few hundred miles for vacation or a business trip.
Talk about "Freedom"!
Give me a fucking break.
The day of the "mark of the beast" is coming!

brutus 03-01-2003 01:59 PM

Come to Europe or change your admin. Ok, things are getting fucked also here... so how about moving to Russia?
