First:

It's litterally unusable.

I don't know how many user have IE9, but there is probably still a lot of people.

yes, the compatibility mode seems to do the trick.

The problem is that i think that it needs to be disabled (?)

I believe that in some cases a site/domain/intranet you visit can enable it automatically.
