Remember when we used to drink tap water?

I remember when bottled water was first being sold at corner stores and I used to laugh at how stupid that was. Now its a billion dollar market. Fuck, I wouldnt think of drinking tap water anymore even though thats what I grew up on.

Amazing how things have changed

twistyneck 02-28-2003 08:44 PM

Bottled water is for homos.

AdultNex 02-28-2003 08:44 PM

I never drink tap water, save for sporting events.

ZoiNk 02-28-2003 08:45 PM

Only times I drink bottled water is at concerts, otherwise it is tap water all the way! :thumbsup

Tell that to the people at the town of Walkerton where 20 people died from drinking tap water

Libertine 02-28-2003 08:50 PM

There are two cities over here that actually bottle their tap water and sell it... quality is higher than that of most other bottled waters :)

It all depends on where you live though... over here, tap water is 100% quality, but in southern europe, for instance, it'll give you the runs in no time.

Spunky 02-28-2003 08:52 PM

Bottled water is tap water only filtered, demineralized, and reverse osmosis..Seen it at a plant here..

10 Million people in Canada and you're worried about 20 who died? You're more likely to get hit by a car crossing the street than to die from drinking tap water.

My tap water comes from my mountain spring fed lake. Most of the bottled water sold in Atlanta actually comes from the springs around here :)

haha, I'm the exact same way. I grew up on tap water, but now I never touch it. Man good marketting can really change the way a society thinks.

Spunky 02-28-2003 09:50 PM

We used to have some of the cleanest water anywhere.Shit they would even haul it out untouched by the tanker loads to the states. Now its starting to get that fecal goose shit syndrome. We have to pump in Chlorine to kill the bacteria.I would never drink that shit out of the tap now.

demented 02-28-2003 09:50 PM

Used to have to drink out of the waterwell when I was a kid. I grew up in southern Kentucky :)

Bottled water sucks cuz of teh bottle, the plastic , makes it taste liek plastic, & if it taste liek plastic, its becasue your drinking plastic.

chodadog 02-28-2003 11:33 PM

I drink tap water. I refuse to pay for water. I've got a water filter thing at home, but to be honest, i'm too lazy to do it. Straight from the tap.

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va.--The public water in Montpelier, Ohio, was tapped as the world's best by judges who tasted samples from as far away as Bosnia.

Eight countries, 23 states and the District of Columbia were represented at the 13th annual Berkeley Springs International Water Taste, which honored winners in five categories Saturday.

Montpelier, Ohio, won in the municipal category, followed by Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Los Angeles; Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; Canora, Canada, and Kinross Charter Township DPW, in Kincheloe, Mich.

The bottled-water prizenwent to Mountain Valley Spring Water of Hot Springs, Ark.

The best carbonated water came from Harrogate Spa Water of Harrogate, Britain.

Clear Creek Water Co. of Farmington, N.M., won for purified drinking water, and StoneClear Springs of Vanleer, Tenn., won for package design.

Each sample was weighed on six points: appearance, odor, flavor, mouth feel, aftertaste and overall impression.

The ideal water is colorless and clear, odor-free, with a balanced mouth feel and no single overpowering taste or aftertaste.

I saw some news report the other day that said Ohio has the best tasting tap water in the world!

rowan 02-28-2003 11:44 PM

Our tap water smells like a swimming pool. I use a Brita water filter jug for drinking and cooking water, works wonders. :thumbsup
