I just tried flip flops for the first time in my life

I usually used this type of wear for the beach:
http://images.linnlive.com.s3.amazon...0906356622.jpg

Now, for the first time I tried this type:

And it was impossible, it almost hurts. Very unpleasant and uncomfortable. I am talking about feet spot between biggest and second finger. What am I doing wrong? I see people walking all day with these flops, I barely can stand more than 5 minutes.

I guess you just have to get used to them.

Flip flops are all I wear and they do not bother my feet at all. I do sometimes get a blister if breaking a new pair in (expected), but it goes away and doesn't return.

I tried them on my feet. I was talking about which part of my feet hurts when I put them on and start walking.

arock10 09-04-2013 04:04 PM

just lose 200lbs

HomerSimpson 09-04-2013 04:05 PM

yes they are not that comfortable... they can cause pain if worn for too long or on longer distances...

i had the same experience, but it goes away after a day or so. In the summer it is all i wear usually. Helps keep you cool.

Be a man already.

Women wear them all the time and don't bitch half as much as you did.

I hope so. I am thinking - that part which rubs there is made of pretty hard rubber, maybe if it was softer it would be better. Or some flip flops even have textile like material there. Maybe that plays a part as well.

That was my point - if everybody wears them for the whole day I must be doing something wrong :)

seeandsee 09-04-2013 04:12 PM

It is if you never ever used them, later you wont notice nothing

Lace 09-04-2013 04:13 PM

Don't buy the ones with the rubber/plastic thong. Get a pair with a cloth thong thingie. Those rubber ones suck horribly. All I generally wear is flip flops and can never wear those.

valeriyCE 09-04-2013 04:14 PM

buy rainbows. they are memory foam

SilentKnight 09-04-2013 04:16 PM

Trade up for some Crocs.

I was wondering the same thing. But again - people walk with rubber/plastic ones and have no issues. Anybody else comment on rubber versus cloth thong?

these are made where I live and are great. also try Reefs, the cloth instead of rubber/plastic between with toes will stop the pain

What do you expect from a pair of "shoes" that cost $7.95

baddog 09-04-2013 04:40 PM

I never liked them either, but we were forced to wear them as kids.

Price is not the point here... :winkwink:

_Richard_ 09-04-2013 04:48 PM

could be the sandal.. i hate flip flops, but the 'no toe rape' one is worse, because there is no good way to not 'kick' your sandal

SlammedMedia 09-04-2013 05:29 PM

flip flops drive me crazy

Danny Deepwood 09-04-2013 09:19 PM

I have a pair that has fabric between the toes. I cant wear the cheap ones either. These are expensive but totally worth it and last 100 longer than cheap ones. Also they have a real sole on them for traction, I have hiked in these!

These are the best flops I've ever owned. Super comfy and quality construction. They also have a bottle cap opener on the bottom

DEFINITION - Flip Flop

When two guys are having sex and they both take turns being the bottom.

"Hey, check out Scotty"
"Dude, you're not a bottom"
"So?"
"Scotty flip flops so you gotta take it in the ass if you wanna plow him in the ass"
"I'm ready..."

switch to what you used to wear. Flipflops cut between your toes, i also dont understand how the hell anyone can find that comfortable

That was the point of the thread - was interested to hear from those who wear them for long time.

ps: only for the beach, I can not imagine myself walking in flipflops in the city. Must be more of North American thing.

I have the same issue so I use a different flip flop. Havianas are for the hard core.

AdultKing 09-05-2013 05:37 AM

As an Aussie the word flip flop sounds crazy, we call them thongs!

deloany4scott 09-05-2013 05:51 AM

Oh no flip flops....they are good for stumbling, nothing more .....tried them first and for last time.

BlackCrayon 09-05-2013 06:36 AM

Now you understand what girls feel when they wear strings.
