Russia may bring back gay blood donor ban

"Russia could soon reintroduce the ban on blood and organ donations for gay men, but offer them free treatment facilitating ?conversion? to heterosexuals, a senior Russian MP has said.

?We will suggest amendments to the law on donors that reintroduce homosexuality to the list of contraindications for blood donations in Health Ministry instructions,? said State Duma MP Mikhail Degtyarev, who is also a Moscow mayoral candidate from the populist-nationalist party LDPR.

The politician told a news conference in Moscow that in his view such a step could not be considered discriminatory, as 65 percent of all HIV-positive persons are homosexuals. Degtyarev did not give the source of this statistics.

Degtyarev also added that the lower house was working on the initiative to offer gays voluntary anonymous consultations with psychologists, psychotherapists and sexologists that would help them to ?return to normal life and become heterosexuals, as are 95 to 99 percent of our citizens.? "

It's quite common that gay men can not donate blood.
It's the same in The Netherlands (gay rights country number 1) and Belgium
and probably a lot more countries

At first I thought it was because Russians were saying you could catch gayness from homosexual blood. I'm relieved it's just because of HIV.

In fact, mondialism in when you think that something from an other culture is inacceptable and that you have to do something to fight it...
This could drive us into a war.

Not that I would know ,but most of the the gay community practice safe sex as much as most hetro.If you ever needed it,Would you rather die or accept blood from a gay donor? shouldn't make any difference

on average gay men have more unprotected sex, and more changing partners compared to non hetro men.

1 out of 100 gay men is infected with HIV while for hetro it is 1 in 5000 (from a test in Europe)

So it's just a risk thing.

was a typo, I first put non gay and wanted to change it to hetro, but left the non.
But I meant just hetro
