From what i have found chaturbate has only been around for 2+ years, started in 2011, yet, they rank pretty high and they are definitely in the top 10. How did they get there so fast ?(2 years is pretty awesome). Anyone has any info on this?

yep, very impressive what they've done considering all the other major cam companies are 10 years older than they are - some quite a bit older than 10 years. WEG Cash guys, their experience from their joinforfree program helped them get traction fast - affiliates always fall for cash for free email signups.

They had a lot of affiliate support when they first started up. Not only from your normal adult affiliates but also from t he blackhat crowd. $1 per tier1 unverified email lead at that time was very attractive.

I would say the free model and many eccentric models which you find less on other cam sites.

This, they must have invested good $$ to pay all those $1's, maybe a million dollar first 12 months. Perhaps other new cam programs had not that cash to invest.

And This, but, really chaturbate it repeat success of cam4 first (it looked exactly like cam4), then only later they updated it to look a little more mfc (add private, group), still is a mix between cam4 and mfc (note that mfc does not have gay, boy+girl, tranny etc.).

yeah i was trying to guess how much they went in the red at first paying out affiliates - i figured a couple hundred grand - you're probably right it was much higher. though money started being earned back pretty fast, they had the banner ads all over the site plus a % of those free signups converting to token buyers.

I would have thought the hardest part would be getting the cam performers. I remember when they were first starting out and there were few performers and even less were worth looking at.

Different story now though.

There is really no secret.

They used the amateur business model. Basically the Ex-Girlfriend type girls, but in webcam. Everything has the amateurish look, and the surfers really like that.

Even tho Streamate is pretty respected over here, they are way behind chaturbate right now, because streamate has that "pornstar look", and its full of studios with the same type fake girls.

For example, there is a Colombian Studio in Streamate that has like 40 girls all stacked in lockers, working from the same apartment, it's pretty crazy if you ask me. I think the illegal Colombian cafisho that is putting all those chicks in lockers, post in this forum. I even heard that once a girl makes the cafisho some good money, he pays the girl the silicone implants to jump over the next level. Fucking crazy.

In Chaturbate you won't find shitty things like that... In chaturbate, the girls mostly work from home and are truly Free and independent. That's actually a good thing about them, I like that. Obviously this last part is something I personally think is good, not something Im saying the surfer is taking into consideration, but probably something showing the good business model they have that respect the models.

I had some doubts when they talked about selling affiliate traffic, but then PunkerBarby listened to us, webmasters, and decided to stop that idea, that's great, a sponsor listening to affiliates is not something you see every day in this business.

A cause of success it that there was every day a thread about chaturbate here and in other forums. Either talking good or bad, not matters, everyone always talked of chaturbate, think at it.

Only if zero (no one) sale all day, no performer would keep there. And they wait 6-12 months before to join a new site, to make sure it will not collapse. 80% of the new cam sites fail in the first 6-12 months, while spending money to get traffic and waiting models to gain trust to signup on unknown company they're not sure will pay or have traffic. Chaturbate invested big and long enough in advertising, then performers came and kept.

In 2013, there is no shortage of performers (as in 2008, for example): it is enough a "minimum" of traffic to have performers stick online. In the "post mfc" era, where (unlike before), is normal for so many new girls/studios to keep open many sites in splitcam, also while naked and play, even if getting as low as $30 a month (or $1 a day) per site. Each open site it is a small extra with no effort, better than nothing.

The new mfc performer accounts end up forgotten and lonely in last page with low camscore in matter of days, so they need other sites anyway. The top mfc models in first page (mostly registered years ago, not new) make $10,000 a week, we know. But these sales are just a dream for the 99% of other new performers. Is like saying: "So Bieber make $$ as singer, I sing too, I will do same $$". Chaturbate it shuffles new and old performers in first page, at top, making easier for new performers to get noticed (than in mfc). Also 2-3 pages of performers, not 25 as in mfc.

Streamray even offers to pay lower % in exchange of be at top of first page - the visibility it is frustrating for performers (as much as google ranking for webmasters), so a performer may prefer to be in top of a small site, than in 20th page of the biggest sites.

PS: Perhaps not everyone knows that chaturbate pays filipina performers 30% only, unlike 50% of everyone else. That's 20% more for chaturbate :)
