That guy is idiot,half these "mistakes" are normal thing in blackhat.Since i see sites using blackhat still ranking good,it means such methods can be still used.

Matt Cutts is on the record regarding the deprecation of PRESS RELEASE-based links. They should be nofollowed or else they will be deemed as spam. Nice list.

So what they are saying is not to even bother getting backlinks.
Why don't they tell you what to do instead of saying what not to do?

get as many one way backlinks as you can. Build your domain authority while outlinking to very few other sites from your main page. The more backlinks you have and the fewer outlinks, the easier your site should compete for rank.
