Your best bet is to just get a Skype number and pay the fee to have a number and call anywhere in North America.
If you need multiple numbers I would go with a service such as evoice or grasshopper and and buy lots of them to forward that to your Skype number. If you want to use specific techniques and see what converts best with certain phone numbers, I would use http://www.callrail.com/ Unfortunately I couldn't get my affiliate account with them approved fast enough, but they are good to use! (probably a bit off topic of exactly what you are looking for. :) |

I read somewhere you can get a Google voice box to connect to your interwebs that plugs into your home phone. One time fee of like $40 or $50, then free calling.

bossku69 mentioned Google Talk, if you want to do something completely free and have access to an old smartphone (no voice or data plan needed, only wi-fi) you could leave it plugged up all the time and use it as if a landline... Edit: Poked around a bit more on their site and found that the business model is $250 plus $50 if you want the extral lines connector (up to 5) plus the per line per month charge. |
