That was the US bowing to world opinion that was completely flawed.
It was part of the "Arab Spring" and plenty of Americans were jumping for joy at the fall
of Arab leaders. Now the same people who jumped for joy are back tracking and blaming everyone else for what they supported.

Here's a clue : Stay out of the middle east. The US has never done anything there that didn't result in long lasting violence. EVER!!!!

The ONLY thing I can figure is we must be waiting for all their oil to finally be used up in that region.

Companies using new technology have already discovered more oil in the U.S. than we ever imagined (more than Saudi Arabia). But our govt. keeps stopping it from being fully realized.

And since it would create a boom for the economy in just about every way, AND get us out of the Middle East once and for all...none of what we are currently doing makes any sense.

So I guess it's a long term strategy to get all the oil out of the Middle East first, then the U.S. will be the big dog and the Middle East can go back to herding goats in the stone age.

That's all I can figure out as to why we keep sticking our nose in that region.

So true. Funny things happen when you meddle in a region for decades (ie. overthrowing democratically elected governments, bankrolling dictators friendly to US interests,etc)...

People don't like it. People get pissed off. People get radicalized and organized.
