preloading images?
What code would I use to preload images?
Here's what I want to do.. I have 2 popups on Wow18.com - the first one is a blur console, so the images already load before the surfer closes the window, the second one is a different tour, affiliates get paid for that popup, but its got quite a few graphics and it gets closed before people see it for the most part. I want to preload the images for the second pop so it will pop and be loaded already. |
just pre load them 1x1 at the bottom of a pre-popup page ?
??? |
img src="path/to/your/preload_image.jpg" width="1" height="1"
put the appropriate opening and closing brackets at the beginning and the end. I don't think you can use them on here.... |
what about loading the entire page in an iframe?
Would that work? |

Here's the page I'm trying to preload: http://www.wow18.com/extendedtour |
yeah i guess youll be ok just putting it in an iframe.
Im never use iframes becauses 'in the old' days, due to browser incompatibilities, they caused all sorts of issues. Hook it up and tell me where to test it ;) |
I would have thought you could do this with a bit of j-a-v-a-s-c-r-i-p-t, what you need is an image preloader like this Image Preloader
WTF is j-a-v-a-s-c-r-i-p-t edited?? |
Second pop from www.wow18.com - make sure you look the first time, it won't pop again (cookies make it only pop once)
