I can not stand his wife

Her being annoying at times is all part of the brilliance of the show.

Most shows would never dare do that. They would write her in such a way that she was nothing but the sympathetic victim in all of this and we would all care about her and hope she comes out of it okay. These guys have the balls to make her like a lot of people out there. She is like everyone else on the show, complex.

If nothing else they need a Youtube show where they just talk about their favorite TV shows. I would watch that. Their scene was hilarious and amazing.

I generally don't miss shows when they end. After lasts night premiere my wife and I both decided that when this series ends, it's going to be a sad day in TV history.

I think the final 7 episodes are gonna be one hell of a roller coaster ride.

it seems as if they were paying tribute to the shining, in some ways. the star trek bit seemed out of character for those 2, i don't recall them being portrayed as st trivia nerds, or nerds at all prior.

i think it's fair to say walt's certainly going to die. if any one of his enemies doesn't get him- skylar, hank, lydia(have an a1 day!), etc, the returning cancer will.

It's some pretty typical blabber for stereotypical stoner humor.. At least that's how I seen it, nothing to do with being a nerd or not.

coming from a stoner, too many specifics for a stoner to recall, at least with the weed around here :)

no biggie though, it was comic relief, not a biggie overall, but i do wonder if maybe the star trek fictitious screenplay(loved the "hey,i have a great star trek screenplay, i just need to write it down." line!) was a portend about walt? it was about throwing up/guts being teleported, and walt's pukign again. and the writers often do portend on this show, not to mention harken back to previous moments, i liked when walt laid out the towel in front of the toilet to puke, just like gus did in a previous episode.

Exactly. Early on they make you think that Skylar is the moral center of the show, but they flip the script when she turns gangster and you start to realize that Jesse is a good guy who has some problems.

i know right, he's always acted like that, remember when the show first started and he was acting like a little bitch about being a big bad dope dealer.

I never thought Skylar was the moral center of the show. I'm pretty sure it was in the first season that we found out Walt got literally fucked out of his future because Skylar got (probably deliberately) knocked up when he had a fling with her, even though he had a quality serious relationship with a smart (soon-to-be-rich-and-famous) fellow scientist.

To me it seemed like it was set up to make you think she was. At first she comes off as the caring wife and mom. She is pregnant and worried about her baby and sick husband etc. As he starts to cook meth and lie to her, you feel for her. But then she starts to change and we start to learn her true nature and maybe she isn't such a sweet, innocent person after all.

I like his newspaper style delivery in the episode. definitely moral.

I understood that Walt loved her, but that show has such fully-realized nuanced characters that I hated her like she was a real person from pretty much go. Other than making him smiley face breakfast, she was mostly a jerk. I didn't like the emasculating way she treated him. I so LOVED when he was like "I am the danger". That really reversed the box she had tried to put him in.

As I talk to some friends it seems like we have a split. A few of them agree with me and liked Skylar early on (I still like her character from a pure writing point of view), but others I have talked to are like you and haven't liked her right from the start.

I guess that is another nod to how great the show is that people can have that strong of an opinion about a character so quickly.

i didn't know who i couldn't stand worse the first few seasons, skylar or marie. they are certainly sisters and classic nagging wives.

I can't believe that this show will be done for good in two months.

wouldn't hank be the moral center, if there were one? i'm not so sure there is a moral center, per se. the entire show is about consequences, i.e, the show itself is a lesson in morality.

Yes I also hate her but agree it helps the show because typical writers want to portray the woman to be a total victim.

Prediction: Skyler ends up in jail, or the witness protection program along with Marie, Holly, and Walt Jr.

i hear ya, the fact that hank found out that walt found out that hank foundout that walt is heisenberg so early suggests to me that skylar's role will be pretty big. maybe hank will employ skylar to bring down walt? i thought it very clever of walt to mention to shrader that he needed walt to bring down gus with the tracker. perhaps that portends shraderbrau needing skylar.......

Mike isn't dead. Walt shot him but didn't finish him off. We all know Mike is a tough and sneaky bastard. He was shot in the gut/side. He is coming for Walt. :2 cents:

Skylar is deep in this conspiracy. She knowingly ran a car wash to launder money earned from the production of methamphetamine. She may attempt to give info to the authorities to save her own ass.

don't forget about Ted.... He thinks Skylar sent those bruisers to his home where he ended up becoming paralyzed. Ted's in traction, but he's not dead, and he may be a factor in this. Lydia worries me. She's going to be pressured by her Czech connections to provide a better product. I am surprised Walt was so dismissive. Lydia is one person I would not want to piss off right now.

i would imagine that lydia will be the conduit that brings ww back into chaos. perhaps? i never guess right with this show, but it's fun messing around trying.

i too was blown away by the dismissive "not my concern, have an a1 day" but later, chatting about it, realized that's still the gangster walt, he hasn't changed, he's a major drug dealer/ fuckwad, he knows that lydia is in deep shit/dead if she can't deliver, no matter, not his concern.
