How much foreign aid does America hand out annually ??
There's been a bit of a stink kicked up the past few days in the UK over our own polices. And of course, after an MP described our money being sent to "Bongo bongo land".

It's normally a scam to pay it to their own companies, the ones who donated to the politicians...an excuse for dirty fingers to enter the tax pot.

I don't know the exact figure but I have heard several times over the years from various sources that it's a shitload.

For that matter where is Iran, N Korea, Saudi Arabia, or any country from S America for that matter? yes, very curious. |
We make it policy to ensure the recipient country hates us before cutting the check. Heaven forbid someone appreciates us.

We borrow money from China to give to countries that hate us so we can carry the debt and a lower standard of living. I must be too stupid to understand. |

Why do we give aid to anyone?

In the first list it shows America as a loving caring nation that gives a lot of money. In the second list there you have the nuance... Americans pay less aid then people in bankrupt countries like portugal and iceland... |

Our infrastructure is falling apart across the nation - yet Canada gives away $5.6 billion in foreign aid to countries that show their appreciation by sending us their worthless refugee immigrants - adding a greater burden to our welfare and healthcare programs.

Note that this is a totally different set of figures from which GOVERNMENTS take their people's money from them by force and then give it away, in that list the US doesn't rank very high as struggle4bucks points out.... This is instead the money that people actually give freely on their own. .:2 cents: " No developed country approaches American giving. For example, in 1995 (the most recent year for which data are available), Americans gave, per capita, three and a half times as much to causes and charities as the French, seven times as much as the Germans, and 14 times as much as the Italians. Similarly, in 1998, Americans were 15 percent more likely to volunteer their time than the Dutch, 21 percent more likely than the Swiss, and 32 percent more likely than the Germans. These differences are not attributable to demographic characteristics such as education, income, age, sex, or marital status. On the contrary, if we look at two people who are identical in all these ways except that one is European and the other American, the probability is still far lower that the European will volunteer than the American." . |
