I think so -

Not that the bands from the 50/60/70's didn't have an influence - I just think the '80s and 'Live Aid' really paved the way...

Think about 'Black Box' for example - It was the birth of a genre....

I went to Live Aid in Phillie...

Of course Queen was in England, but years later you can see how Queen rocked that show...

My favorite is U2 performing "Bad".....
