Obama administration is trying to make the streaming of illegal content a felony. This would include copyrighted content.

If something like this passed, even if they hid the sites offshore, the SEs would have to deindex them.

Of course it wouldn't stop the sites from existing, but it would create a way to put an end to their easy access via the SE's. Added to that with the major player at the moment being Manwin with ties to the US, he would have problems legally operating.

I don't see it being done. I think it is a fund raising ploy for the Democrats. Get a few big checks from Google and the issue will be dropped. Youtube would be screwed.

YouTube wants this. They already have legal videos up. This would erase the pirated competition.

I happened to be in two different places today where I was trapped having to listen to a Rhianna song, so the end of tunes wouldn't bother me at all.

Competition 101 - Get in the gates, become kill of the hill, then outlaw anything you did to get to the top, make it illegal for everyone else coming up.

i hope they do ban the tunes the radio sucks these days
