i see a lot of tgps stealing gallery links.

does anyone here actually care that they are listed without your permission?

well, besides the actual tgp that they steal from.

I really don't care either. Sure, you might get some shit traffic, but paying $.50 a gig isn't exactly breaking my wallet.

I don't care who lists my galleries. I can't see why someone who makes galleries might, either.

I can see why a TGP would mind. They do the work to find them, they have the exposure to get people to list them... and then someone takes them.

Unfortunately, I don't think it actually makes sense, like it or not. A gallery is a website. The point of almost every website is to get linked. Slashdot doesn't mind if we post stories that they link from their site on GFY. Can a link list owner really complain if someone else links to the same places as them? How about a TGP?

Depends on the traffic source whether or not people care. If it is something like Philipino traffic from a Tagolag html page, I would care. But your typical site, nah, most people just care if they convert.

But it is funny when your galleries show up every day at a big tgp and you apply for a free preferred submitter account and guess what: they won't even entertain you wih their reply. :mad:

contact them by email. let em know what happen and i bet they will give you a preferred account :thumbsup

I run gallerys in AdultBuffet everyday and put counters on them at times..When I do I get at least 600 hits from 2 other TGPs which Buffet has no dealings with..I emailed one and said I'd send him gallerys and he said send all ya want.. Alot of TGPs steal them especially from big ones they know have reviewed them and won't take any shit ones..

Please, please, please steal my galleries!! As long as they don't hotlink the thumbs or pics, but post the entire gallery..woo hoo.

I did... but got no response so far... oh well, my links are still up every day so they save me time :)

I've been putting a CGI.HTTP_REFERER in my galleries and if I'm getting traffic from a link other than I asked for, I forward that shit automatically. Plus it kills the gallery when someone bookmarks it. The only way people can see it is if they come from the TGP I have it set for.

And the flipside of galleries appearing on large TGPs is that some of them actually have shit traffic so it only burns your bw...
O.k. others who copy links actually send good traffic (wildcherries come to mind...).
