Dyson Vacuums
Went on a little spending spree, GF got her tax return, she got a Harley Leather jacket, a 50 in TV, a new SS dishwasher and a new Dyson Vacuum, she got the dc40 Animal. I have to say, this is truly a well engineered piece of equipment. I put it together without the directions, it just snapped together. It's easy to use, does a great job. We vacuumed an area of carpet, then went over the carpet again with the dyson and it found a lot more dirt.
The ball thing is pretty cool and it does edges really nice. We have stairs and the attachment hose thing works great on it. If you are looking for a new vacuum, it's well worth the extra money. She paid for the extra warranty, so for the next 8 years she is covered. |
That's a great vacuum. I wish they weren't so expensive.
I was considering dropping some money on a good one but that time hasn't come yet. My sister has one, and swears by it. |
I have had the original purple animal since 2003, still works great.
|
I picked up two of the Dyson vacuums on Craigslist. It's an amazing vacuame. Money well spent.

When i saw that vacuum I dug it but my old place had zero carpet, new place only the office and the bedroom have carpet so bought a cheaper Bissell as my vacuum job only takes 2 minutes, still tempted to buy that fucker even though I don't need it.
|
They sure look like great vacuums but they average about 500 bucks over here
|
I keep buying shitty ones at Asda that keep breaking down. By now with all I spent I would have enough money to buy two friggin Dysons.

As far as bags, this thing rocks, I have never seen a canister vac empty so easy I live in Van Nuys now, but come by your way a lot, I grew up in Camarillo and love taking rides on the bike there for breakfast on the weekends. When I was growing up, TO was were all the good looking women came from. |

That Dyson fellow is one smart chap! :thumbsup

Nice brand of vacuums :thumbsup

Dyson makes great vacuums. We vaccumed the carpet with the Dyson right after we vaccumed with our old cleaner and were stunned at the extra dust and cat hair it picked up. We bought our Dyson about 5 years ago and it still works perfectly today. The brush for the carpet attachment wore out and they replaced it free too. I'd never buy another brand now.

I will stick with my Kirby

i know why you make this post...it is that good.
We got one a year ago, amazing and easy to use. If i had to be a vacuum salesmen, i would only work for them..lol |
I paid $600 for mine; I forget the model number. It's red. Best investment I've ever mad.

This thread is amazing.
Dyson is the best vacuum I've ever hard. I suffer from terrible allergies and have two cats that I refuse to give up, so I have DC47 multi floor and bought all the extra animal attachments so I could properly clean any upholstery. Before buying the Dyson I had a Miele which I thought was working properly, but just like everyone else here, the first time I used it I was really amazed (and disgusted) with all the extra fur and dust it picked up. When I moved to Europe last year, it was the first thing I replaced and when I move again in the fall, a new one will be waiting for me when I get there. They are definitely expensive but if you suffer from asthma, allergies or have lots of pet fur flying around, they are the best. :) |
Electrolux.
Not as cool. Not as ergo. Picks up more. Lasts longer. |
We have three of them here in our house. Even the 8 year old one runs like it did the day we got it.
|
They work great but they break often. Fantastic design, but it's all plastic and in a year or two it doesn't hold up well. You'll still get great suction, but it won't stand upright and lock or the hose will fray etc etc
That would be fine but it works out to a few hundred dollars per year if you need to replace it every couple years. I still have an OLD Electrolux... It may be 20 years old or more. Works perfectly and you could run it over with a hummer without putting a scratch on it. That was back before companies added 'planned obsolescence' to their appliance designs. |
When I had dogs, it was required.
|
We have no pets but still wouldn't do without my Dyson !! :thumbsup
|
I have one for over 6 yrs. Its good to clean them periodically. Keeps it running good and its easy to do.
