Conventions charging $300 - $1000 admission
 

Friend of mine was showing www.nycexpo.com to me. Now, why would webmasters want to pay $995 per person to attend ?

no shit... considering all the various levels of sponsorship they have & how much they cost, im surprised they need to charge attendees anything...

I was all excited to see a convention in NYC, and my jaw dropped when I saw the pricetag. I'd go if they gave out free blowjobs, exclusive sites, and some content with the admission fee.

That price was just for registration fees? Damn, that's kinda strange.

Do they cover your hotel atleast?

Maybe they think only high rollers will go, and they think high rollers have manners and won't trash the place?

Yeah its pretty Brutal...........and for what ?? You are going to basically see most of the same people you meet at other shows.There have been a few posts about this here before, people complaining about the prices, thats when they dropped it to $995 :2 cents:

In other industries, where there is an actual barrier to entry, the fees for conventions can be a lot higher than that.

Maybe they want to get rid of the non-players?

Going to a show is one of the best investments you can make in the biz.. still 995 is a bit steep

Still, the price to get in is Ridiculous ! You have to justify it somehow, and going to a couple of parties & a strip club is totally out to lunch for the money.I went to Ninas party Last year, met a whole bunch of new people, done business, Had a great time for a 3rd of the money! As a matter of fact I am going to do Amsterdam for less . I know Ny is not the cheapest city, but the promoters should get real !

NYC isnt that much more expensive, I wrote them and said I had a place to stay. They told me you had to take the hotel package.
Also $1000 dollars for lunch, some of the same old seminars (stuff you can read about on the web for free ) and a party at a strip club please lol. I work way to hard for my money to give it away lol.

Name one I worked in the real world for a longtime and never saw a convention that just to get in the door was $1000 lol. Most of the costs of conventions are eaten up by vendors who want exposure.

I live nyc and I was thinking about going. But fuck 1,000.00?
I rather spend that shit in a strip club or a night club.

Aren't the parties usually free and covered by the sponsors?

The all inclusive fee to cover parties and bar bills is ridiculous and a complete joke. Not everyone attends parties. Not everyone drinks. Why should they have to pay the tab?
