going back to gym after appendectomy
 

Hey guys:

have any of you had your apendix removed (laparoscopically)

if yes how long it took for you to go back to the gym?

its been 3 weeks now(4 this thursday) and im dying to go back

It took me about 8 weeks to totally recover, but I had a post-op infection. I'm thinking some light exercise would be alright, but I wouldn't work on your abs for a few more weeks, at least.

yours was laparoscopically removed as well? the infection was because the appendix bursted?

Yeah, I had an incision in my belly button and a smaller one off to the left. The infection was the actual wound itself - not closing properly as the surgeon didn't stitch it correctly when he closed up the larger hole. (They had to rip out and restitch & glue stuff. Not fun!)

oh wow ! well i sure hope you got better afterwards :)
