How many of you could pass a grammar test if given one right now?

I am writing lessons on grammar, and i am constantly having to look up the actual rules.

Too many years using Weblish has rotted my brain..lol

candyflip 07-28-2013 07:50 PM

I am a Grammar Nazi. I would pass, easily.

bronco67 07-28-2013 07:53 PM

I've seen some seemingly smart people who have the grammar and spelling skills of a 2nd grader.

I remember being in a spelling bee when I was a kid, and always having decent writing grammar -- but now I'm married to a a teacher. I deal with a real life grammar Nazi, not someone on the internet.

particles..different types of nouns..lol
sure we might know what they are, but if asked the definition, i break down and look it up.

ReggieDurango 07-28-2013 07:53 PM

I think I could pass the test.

I probably wouldn't pass. I know my grammar sucks.
I'm fine with that and usually ask someone to proof read and correct grammar if it's an important note.

my "legal" English is better that my everyday English.

Ethereal 07-28-2013 08:51 PM

I have no clue, but I can always be the douche saying that they fail because English is not even their second language.

defunk 07-28-2013 09:23 PM

i'd fail in like 30 seconds. I never have to formally write anything, let alone with my hands :P

globofun 07-28-2013 09:27 PM

Yes, i think many people who have English as their second language would do better then those of us who use it as our first. I don't think it was emphasized enough in school here.

Grammar doesn't start with a capital, nor does nazi I don't think.

Bourke 07-28-2013 11:34 PM

I am confident I would pass.

He is using it as a title, I think uppercase works.

I think I could pass a grammar test.

For native English speakers

I got 38/40. I think the 2 I missed were "British" as opposed to American grammar answers.

Grapesoda 07-29-2013 06:45 AM

I damn sure can't

_Richard_ 07-29-2013 08:28 AM

http://www.kristisiegel.com/grammartest2.html

lets find out.

Tom_PM 07-29-2013 08:37 AM

When enough people screw up consistently, they'll just "correct" the rules to match. Like how the dictionary now contains "Irregardless" which became a word because so many people mistakenly thought it already was. Having said that, me grammar be good.

Jim_Gunn 07-29-2013 08:47 AM

I'm filming today so maybe I'll try it later, but I am sure that I'd ace the test because I'm a stickler for grammar and spelling. I have to admit, I judge people negatively who can't or won't spell and use correct grammar in their native language. It's a sign of a poor education and/or a certain kind of mental laziness in my opinion to not care enough to spell or write proper English even in an informal situation. That "would of" shit that is ubiquitous nowadays in informal written English drives me especially crazy.

Trevor probably should have had a comma after grammar.

alex.missyouth 07-29-2013 10:29 AM

I'd pass it for sure. :)

CaptainHowdy 07-29-2013 02:38 PM
