Hostgator's Server migration to Provo, UT

I have shared hosting with hostgator. Noticed things seemed alot slower after the migration. Actually didn't know this was going on. Got an e-mail after they did it and said migration had started. Had to search to find more info.

Noticed my wordpress sites are alot slower. Was I too spoiled before by the speed before to expect shared servers to handle my wordpress blogs?

Sucks because I researched Bluehost and Hostgator for hosting. I chose Hostgator and now they have moved to Bluehost's servers.

I guess HostGator (I'm a customer as well, we noticed things slowing down too on WP.) wants to be closer to the new NSA Data Center opening soon.

they got bought by another company that runs their own datacenter so everything is getting moved.

Let me know if you see much improvement. HG rec'd that plug in as well, many of our bogs have it. So-so on helping.

I may change my theme or check my menus. A couple of my blogs are loading fine. My one mainstream is loading pretty slow, but it seems a little better with the Super Cache Plugin.

A bit of a lottery with these things, unless you pay a lot :2 cents:

We have a few clients running it on VPS and dedicated, works great, easy to set up.
