Pulp Fiction Movie Mistakes

"The car that Jackson and Travolta accidentally shot that kid in changed from a black car (when they picked up their guns from the trunk) to a white car, when they were cleaning the blood & brains. So when Tarantino says "I can hardly believe it's the same car," it's more than a little irony....."

Ezekiel 25:17" The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and goodwill, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you" :BangBang: :BangBang:

Elephant_Gut 02-27-2003 02:01 PM

My favorite scene is Christopher Walken talking about the story of the watch.

No wait... the best scene is where they bring the gimp out of the box.

No.. it's after those two hillbillies have humped Marcellus and Bruce Willis' kills 'em. Marcellus and Butch (Willis) are starting straight ahead and wondering what is going to happen next in their relationship.

No...it's the final scene in the restaurant where Samuel L. Jackon dresses down Pumkin and HoneyBunny

Or maybe it's the needle through the heart scene...

The royale with cheese dialogue.

Shit...this movie is just a succession of classic scenes

:thumbsup :thumbsup

In case you were questioning.

Why does Butch choose the samurai sword over the chainsaw?
This is most likely a reference to Tarantino's admiration of Oriental action films, where honor and respect are an integral element, even in crime. Butch feels a sense of conscience, thus prompting him to return to "Russell's old room" (I don't even want to know who "Russell" was), and save Marsellus. It emphasizes the "Honor Among Thieves" theme Tarantino utilizes in both Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. And don't you think the chainsaw would be cliche? Another Texas Chainsaw Massacre ripoff -- just what we need, right?

just for those of you who don't know, the briefcase they are carrying around all movie is Marcelus Wallace's soul. He had sold it to the devil and they were getting it back.

Never heard that but interesting either way.

Kinda like the shit that Dennis Hopper sniffs in Blue Velvet...it has to be something bad not to even mention it in the movie :thumbsup

The question I always ask people about the movie is "What was in the briefcase?" and no one ever had even thought twice about it. Glad to hear someone else caught that too.

gornyhuy 02-27-2003 05:14 PM

Yep, and in the scene where you first meet Marselus, there is a big bandaid on the back of his neck, apparently that spot is where the soul is traditionally extracted by the devil.

gornyhuy 02-27-2003 05:15 PM

Kill Bill looks bad as shit!!!

What's in the briefcase?

If there's one question that's asked more than any other, it's this one. QT said himself in an interview that he had no intention of making actual contents for the case, leaving it up to the viewer instead. So, here are some possible answers as to what Marsellus Wallace's "dirty laundry" is:

The satchel of diamonds from Reservoir Dogs. (You never did see the stones, did you?)

The evil of all men. Consider that the combination was "666."

A giant Royale with Cheese. Could be an imported delectable made specially for Marsellus.

Bouillon soup mix. Pure broth, with extra MSG to provide the glow.

Dayglow lemon pops. Hey, if Telly Savalas looked good eating a sucker, why not Marsellus?

Some of the stash from Repo Man. Yeah it was green originally, but after 12 years, you'd expect it to turn a different color, wouldn't you?

A cache of gold bricks. No matter what your belief is in money, an authentic gold brick is beautiful to look at. It's no wonder why Pumpkin was in awe. Then again, if it were gold bricks, it would be kinda hard to carry.

A birthday cake. Think about it -- when Vincent opens the case, he's spellbound, and when Jules asks "Are we happy," all Vincent can do is smile and chuckle like a kid. (Perhaps it was part of a surprise party for Marsellus.) Then, when Pumpkin looks at it, he says, "It's beautiful," and all I could do was picture him staring at an intricate, painstakingly detailed inscription on the frosting. And there could have been lit candles on the top, which explains the glow!

Marsellus' soul. This theory is used more than any other, considering the visuals and plot line. Marsellus wears a bandage in the back of his head, perhaps to cover an incision which The Devil made to take the soul. Jules and Vincent experience "Divine Intervention" in getting the briefcase, and Jules' Ezekiel 25:17 speech talks about evil and all that other biblical stuff.

But I personally think it's an Oscar statue. It only weighs about eight pounds, making it easy to carry in a briefcase. Bret and his roommates could have worked at a movie studio as errand boys, and they snatched a loose Oscar, but didn't want to give it to Marsellus. Also, Mia admitted she never went far in acting, so Marsellus, being the protective husband he is, decided to get her an Oscar to show how much he cares. And wouldn't the Oscar look great next to the Jack Rabbit Slim's Twist Contest trophy? As well, keep in mind that the film was based in and around Hollywood, and what does everyone in Hollywood want? Yep, an Oscar. But what about the glow, you ask? Well, artistic license, I guess. Still, it makes sense when Pumpkin asks "Is that what I think it is," since that would be the question anyone would ask if he/she saw an Oscar statue.

Don't you think the guy at the restaurant who tried to steal the case was a little too "impressed" for it to be an oscar statue. If it were me who was gonna rob the statue, I'd be liek -- "Wow, Cool, now give me that shit."

Yeah I don't think it would have had such an impact on him if it were just an Oscar.
