I think it would be better if UK webmasters and not only UK but all with UK traffic put the link to the petition on their sites in some good visible place for a few days. Because there might be a few hundreds UK webmasters here. But there are millions of the UK visitors to the sites the UK webmasters hold every day. Do the math.

If we touched 100,000 than they have to debate on the bill in house of commons before it get passed... fight is already on to stop them to implement the silly idea....

adultmobile 07-26-2013 07:20 AM

Someone in The Netherlands parliament already proposed to make the same ISP censorship on porn as in UK. If the bill goes into effect in UK, I am pretty sure lots of other countries will do the same.

Nice but even if you get a decent number of signs,i cant remember any case in any country where politician ever accepted petition unless it was something minor.

Not heard about what happened in Aussieland when their government tried the same method to shoehorn censorship onto them?

Scott McD 07-29-2013 11:18 AM

It's still amazing that this is one of our governments priorities considering everything else that is falling apart in the UK.

Incredible...

Don't put to mutch confidence in what you've said, if this starts somewhere, we can't know where it ends
and keep in mind that we have to host our sites.

and no, we can always atract custommers within being more productive, but with this kinda bs it will badly hit the potencial buyers.

additionally i think none of us would want to go back to a backward point from where we are now.

i thought there would be some change after fall of that conservative party in Nl?

actually i was shocked at first when the time that so called socialist cunt proposed a pornography ban bill at Eu parliament though.

247mg 07-30-2013 01:04 AM

This is a serious issue and i think we are not fully concentrating on it. If this passed in UK than in next wikl be EU and than it will be late.... so please act now....

We hit 32,000 fully signed petition

nexcom28 07-30-2013 02:13 AM

So all new computers will be fitted with filters automatically by the end of the year. Is it a done deal already?

Wilsy 07-30-2013 04:50 AM

I signed, surely this should be low in the list of priorities where our government is concerned, considering the whole country is falling apart

Numbers are crunching fast!

Cyber Fucker 08-01-2013 09:31 AM

Actually the numbers are slowing down but still it's one of the most popular petitions there. Now it's around 1k votes per day it was 5k per day this weekend. I think it may take 2-8 weeks before it will hit 100k.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same more and more, I guess this might be a big waste of time but after all no one will say that we were not trying. On the other hand, I'm kind of surprised that not many British webmasters and everyone else there are not actively opposing this censorship. This will bring only problems to them. I think that most do not realize it and they all will woke up when biggest ISPs will turn it on. Most of them will be like: "Wtf? Why I can't access my shit today?!" Well, let's see how this will end.

to be honest i think there is a backlash.

this could be a good thing as if its stoped now then chaces are no uk goverment will want to try this for a while at least.

the problem they have is that they have a chinease firm who is doing the blocking. and that means one firm has the say on what sites are and not ok.

cameran has also said that page 3 would not be blocked. now this makes life interesting becase such sites as only tease are no more than toplessw, so in theory those sites should not be blocked, and if they are will they have a claim against the isp's?

And if its going on words, sites with words such as Sessex in (sex) could be blocked. So if your running a big website selling non adult goods and even for 1 day your site is blocked, you could loose millions. And would you have a claim against the isp's?

This is not simple.

Yes, indeed and I know this, you know this and everyone who has a clue about how the internet functions knows it but the ridiculous silly government does not and some of them just do what they are told to do no matter what.

I see it as pointless and retarded crap that will hit in both the internet users and the web industry causing nothing but problems. But what can we do about it when they say they are right and they will not change their minds even when solid arguments and reasons by reliable authorities have been given? Also the 99% of the society either do not know about what's coming or they do not give a shit or they actually think this is good and it will save minors from seeing porn.

Cyber Fucker 08-04-2013 02:58 PM

I also don't get why most British adult webmasters don't fight with this now when there is a time by for example gathering this 100 000 votes under the petition. If every British adult webmasters put a temporary link to the petition with the right note on their sites the 100 000 would be gathered already.
