Sup? Fuckers.

Noticed a lot of bitches whining about their lolpress installs lately.

In the past, this industry was innovative. So, what's up? Who else is running a node powered CMS?

Lets see PHP touch these numbers:

care to elaborate

calmlikeabomb 07-21-2013 09:09 PM

http://nodejs.org/about/ - Node.js is a platform built on Chrome's JavaScript runtime for easily building fast, scalable network applications. Node.js uses an event-driven, non-blocking I/O model that makes it lightweight and efficient, perfect for data-intensive real-time applications that run across distributed devices.

adendreams 07-21-2013 09:20 PM

cool info.

you a coder lookin for gigs or an in-house guy somewhere?

calmlikeabomb 07-21-2013 10:06 PM

I'm not looking for anything beyond a discussion about NodeJS.

Async, HiRedis, Socket.IO, CPU Clustering, Headless Webkit, JSDOM anyone using this stuff?

I've only played around with Node just a bit, watching tutorials on Lynda.com.
I don't have anything as of yet where I could use the fine tuned power that Node can provide.

can i make money with it?

calmlikeabomb 07-21-2013 11:15 PM

That's kinda like saying your taxi service is happy transporting clients around town in a Reliant Robin. When instead, your customers could be delivered to their destination(s) using a fleet of exotic super cars.

tonyparra 07-21-2013 11:29 PM

so i can make a cms with this? ill look into it

Yes, Node.js is an awesome thing. It's JavaScript on the server.. Non-blocking, shit is bananas. B.A.N.A.N.A.S. I do some Node.js work too, fun shit.

If you want to look into a building a CMS, TJ Holowaychuk is basically THE node.js genius of the community and has created one of the best frameworks for the language. Express.js Look into it.

Just found this thread looking for Node.js on here. I've switched entirely to Node.js for my own stuff. I'm currently working on a CMS solution for a solo site.

I stopped using PHP around 2010. Rails was my thing for a while but it is such a slow beast nowadays.

Node.js is screaming fast. It's fucking insane how much you can get out of the hardware. There's so much more flexibility with what you can do as well.

Image is broken. Running 16 cores on a DigitalOcean VPS? Ok.

WordPress sucks. node.JS for the win. But why bulk up a site with a CMS when custom node.JS is so easy?

Seems pointless and a waste of time.
