Comment To Sponsors. ~ Opinions?

<B><font color=#000000>Business on the web is far from what it use to be. Everybody thinks they are a web master and there are loads of losers in the group. It?s bad enough when some wanker puts up a site, or several sites, to promote an affiliate program, but then while they are suppose to be targeting surfers to make a sale, they add several links to sponsors with text like ?Web masters make tons of money! Click here!? This attracts even more losers to join affiliate programs and put up more terrible sites, taking away from real web masters trying to make a living. They clog up the engines with their trash and attract even more loser want-to-be web masters. It?s an awful cycle.

I think sponsors can help the real web masters by not doing the same thing. So many affiliate sites have ?$$$Webmasters$$$? or ? ?Webmasters click here to make BIG money? right on them. When a surfer gets to the site, he looks around. Perhaps he could have been persuaded in to becoming a paying customer but then he keeps seeing dollar signs and thinks instead of joining, he?ll become a web master too. He can wank off to the free content and ?get rich on the Internet.?

I understand that the sponsor is in business to make money, and does not care if a surfer buys a membership, or signs up to promote the affiliate program, but is this not f?ing everything all up? It?s almost impossible to build a site and make it look exclusive when there are advertisement on the affiliate page telling you that you can make BIG money with their program. Even the ?free? galleries many sponsors supply to web masters (to help them promote the program) have the make big money thing sticking out like a neon sign! What is up with this?

So how should the sponsors promote their program? On boards like this for one, targeting a higher percent of real web masters, by posting in adult web master newsletters, and other such targeted methods. Someone with half a brain could also write to the web master and ask if they have an affiliate program. This would weed out so many of the people that want to ?get rich off porn? or ?get rich on the Internet.?

ARS and a very few others do have ?some? splash pages and galleries that do not advertise for web masters but even so, you have to hunt for them though all their promotional material because even they put the web master invitation on so many of their pages.

The Internet is here to stay, but I wish the loser want-to-be web masters would disappear.

Change the fucking text to a color that people will read...AND change your sig before it gets banned.

There are rules around here ya know. :321GFY

Stop whining.

Business on webmaster boards is far from what it use to be. Everybody thinks they can have a huge signature and there are loads of losers in the group. It?s bad enough when some wanker puts up a link, or several links, to promote an affiliate program or website, but then while they are suppose to be targeting webmasters to make a sale, they add a huge fucking sig to their sponsors with text like ?Web masters make tons of money! Click here!? This attracts even more webmasters to join their affiliate programs, taking away from real web masters trying to make a living on smaller sigs. They clog up the threads with their billboards and attract all the want-to-be web masters only to them. It?s an awful cycle.

I could go on. :1orglaugh

I think your black text sucks and therefore won't be reading your post, as I imagine most people won't.

HungSolo 02-27-2003 03:59 AM

I see you're using the Shaven Ferret script... I bet you clicked on a "Webmaster" link to find that. Don't blame others for your inadequacies(sp?). :321GFY

funkmaster 02-27-2003 04:01 AM

I totaly agree with you. another thing that pisses me of is losers that try to trickle webmasters to their site by using text-links like "Click here for a free Mass Traffic Program!"

Mr.Fiction 02-27-2003 04:01 AM

This is a secret message. Don't read it.

FuqALot 02-27-2003 04:05 AM

Try using a normal color, damn ;-).

No shit. It's bad enough to expect anyone to read a post that long in the middle of the night, then to make it black on gray just adds insult to injury.

Well that's great. Thank you all for your replies.
I guess you can please some of the people
some of the time, but you can never please
you guys!

Is this not a discussion board?
Yet you pick on my choice of text color,
my sig, and even my words.
I guess you have nothing constructive to say,
perhaps because you have become mindless
with all the wanking you do.

I've removed my sig and am printing in white.
I didn't mean to disrupt your pityful worlds.

#1: this board has rules about sigs. yours didn't follow those.
#2: your choice of color made your post a bitch to read.
#3: if you can't compete with the newbies, you don't belong in this business

Ian 02-27-2003 06:36 AM
