about time! mobiles are "default on" so why not interwebs connections! makes sense to me

That's just a sarcasm I hope.

It is a parents role to take care of their kids. I think any of such default on filter is the rape of freedom. They will start with porn and end on political stuff censoring what's inconvenient for them. This is not right. Besides it's impossible to block all adult content and this will do more harm than good. Parents will think that all the job is done for them... which will be far from truth. While fully legit stable adult websites that care about minors will get their traffic hurt while some bullshit scam sites that just popped yesterday with nasty stuff and illegal content and malware on will find it as a great opportunity.
