Hobbies anybody? Apart from porn, that is.
What kind of hobbies are you guys into?
The reason I ask is pretty simple. GFY is full of web designers and other sorts of developers. Plenty of you guys might create a hobby-related website or blog just for the hell of it -- not so much expecting to get rich as just wanting to relax and create something about a topic that interests you. Meanwhile, I've always got thousands of domains just sitting around gathering dust. There's a chance I might have something related to your hobby of choice. Maybe the domain I've got in the pile is better than something you'd hand-register. Maybe I can let you use my domain for free. We could arrange some sort of buy-it-later option, maybe, and you could always back out without even paying if you later decide not to continue. You'd keep the site you built, and I'd keep the domain you were using. It seems pretty painless. The same applies to my adult domains too. But they're only a small fraction of my portfolio. Thoughts? |
Hobbit porn.
|
99% sure that's a joke. But I actually have a domain for that niche!
|
Cycling. I was invited to go on a afternoon long ride with a friend - packed lunches - and had a blast, although I was completely unprepared for it. Since then I bought me a decent starter road bike, a Fuji Aboslute 1.3 and I've been riding daily.
I rode 12.2 miles today, although that's more than I usually do. It's fun and it's good exercise. |
Weed. And beer. I am building a mobile app focused around bars and beer.

This one has some obvious Ecommerce potential. If you like to blog and recommend gear, it could be a good fit: BikingAccessories.com I've also got a couple of odds and ends: ChineseBikes.net HalfHelmet.net |

I also coined this name for a beer blog: BoozeViews.com A couple of years ago I sold GanjaNinja.com to somebody, but it looks like he just turned around and listed it for sale at a higher price! I'd much rather have somebody else's developed site that I could point out to people. For legal home-grown marijuana, I like this name: PottedPot.com Obviously, it's a pun on "potted plant". Oh, yeah, these too: BuyPot.co.uk (For the United Kingdom) GetPot.us GetPot.info GetPot.org |
Cycling, running, beer, movies, AR Drone flying, cat petting.
|
Running, raw vegan 'cooking', juice diets, swimming, taking care of my chihuahuas.

____________________ Running: MarathonAthletes.com MarathonAthlete.com MarathonSupplements.com ____________________ Movies is a broad topic. My full list there is pretty long, and it's all over the place. Samples: MovieStardom.com MovieAuditions.org MovieScenes.info HollywoodMovie.co.uk TelevisionStars.net TelevisionStars.co.uk BollywoodStars.co.uk 20sFilms.com 30sFilms.com 40sFilms.com 50sFilms.com 60sFilms.com 90sFilms.com etc. ____________________ AR Drone Flying ... Probably nothing specifically in that area, but some that can fit: Birdseye.net (as in an aerial bird's eye view) HighestHighs.com (Don't know how high those drones go. This one might be better for pot!) I'm loaded with French aeronautics domains and domains for Spanish private jets. Kind of odd, actually. ____________________ Cat petting. Well I'm stumped there. Unless you know something about cat medications, cat baldness, or cat crime: CatsMedication.com HairLossInCats.com (ditto dogs) CatsBehaviorProblems.com |

Cycling here too,i do a bit more than 12 miles,usually 80-110km/day 2-3 days a week |
Those are the only beer domains?
Anyone else that has an active beer site, I'd be interested in talking about link trades. |

_____________ Chihuahuas: HairLossInDogs.com Personally, I'm more into other breeds: JapaneseDogBreeds.com Kishus.com Shikokus.com _____________ Looks like I'm out of stock on Swimming and running low on Vegan. VeganSausages.com is all I'm left with currently. UnderwaterSurveillance.com is definitely more for security and scuba. (Once upon a time I was a submarine officer.) _____________ For juice, I actually own the word in Spanish: Zumos.net _____________ Lots of stuff for dieting. It would be a long list. My initial count is 147 domains. Spanish domains are one of my specialties; so I've got lots of premium generics in all sorts of categories. Some samples: AlimentacionEquilibrada.com ("Balanced Nutrition") AnorexiaBulimia.org BienDeSalud.es ("Healthy") BreastMilkHealth.com ClinicalNutritionists.com DetoxPills.org DietingRisks.com DietRisks.com ElCuerpo.net ("the body") ElNutrimento.com ("Nutrition" / "Nutrients") EvenSmaller.com FatLbs.com FewerLbs.com GetStares.com ImmUnoNutrition.co.uk Immunonutritionist.com Invulnerable.me InvulnerableMe.com JapaneseMedicines.com LaAlimentacion.com ("Nutrition") LycopodiumClavatum.com (People buy this) MealReplacements.net MinusPounds.com MinusSugar.com (dieabetes) MuscleASAP.com MusclesASAP.com NutritioCounselor.net NutritionCounselor.org NutritionistDegrees.net NutritionistDegrees.org ObeseChildren.org OrganicMedicine.net PlanDeAdelgazamiento.com ("weight loss plan") PlanParaAdelgazar.com ("weight loss plan") PlusSized.me Purify.net (Think Detox ... Any raw food domains? I'm big into juicing and raw foods. I am down to 198 pounds. I started at 215 only a few weeks ago. Also, any domains on NO WEHAT diets/lifestyle?

By the way, if someone does buy a targeted domain and develops it into a blog, here's a nice STEP BY STEP BLUEPRINT I found. http://www.exponentialcash.com/blogg...eprint-part-i/ Can't get any more THOROUGH than that. The free traffic part is in part 2 apparently.

Any GOOD bondage domains?

For juices, see Zumos.net above. _______ Raw foods ... Not specifically. I should get some. It's definitely popular these days. Some of my domains are related to detox, and something like Purify.net is an example of something that can be adapted as a brand name for raw foods diets. _______ No-Wheat diets: Wheatless.org Wheatless.net Those I actually owned before and then let go of because somebody else had the .COM. But I've since repurchased them. Catchy and short. And .ORG seems to fit this area. |
Quote:
Nu-uh.com YoThang.com They're hard to search for in my lists, but I've got quite a few. |

bodybuilding - but I guess it is more than just a hobby. I go to the gym every single day since 2001.
|
+1 for the weed and beer :-)
I did have to stop that hobby when my kid was born... Switched to air rifle shooting. In about a month she will be 5 years old, so i locked up all my guns and gave away all my ammunition and i'm currently in the market for a new hobby... If you're actually going to build a weed and beer website and you need another partner, let me know! I'm reasonable skilled in php and perl, and good with databases (installing, optimizing, creating querys,...) . icq: 158726359 |
Any more for weed?
Only mainstream or adult too? Beer league hockey? |

My full list of of domains related to bodybuilding, strength training, and the gym would be over 100. Some or bullseyes for that niche, while others are more peripheral. Here are some samples of what I've got lying around: Maximizing.me Sculpting.me (body sculpting) MuscleASAP.com MusclesASAP.com CardioMachines.com (If I had time to learn how to set up a drop-shipping site, this would be a money maker. Treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, etc. Expensive stuff that people often order online.) GimnasiaConPesas.com ConPesas.com ("Weight Lifting" in Spanish) TheGym.net GymWorkout.net LaGimnasia.com ("Gymnastics" in Spanish) HealthCoaching.org Invulnerable.me InvulnerableMe.com WeightLiftingGear.com (more drop-shipping) MantengaseEnForma.com ("Stay in Shape" in Spanish) MaxReaders.com minuspounds.com Muscular.xxx (I know there's a porn niche for this. The .COM would probably cost $50k to $250k. But Muscular.com wouldn't even be clearly adult-related. Some people on here will crucify me for saying so, but this is a case where the .xxx is a better fit for the adult industry -- cheaper and a better brand than the .com equivalent. That's my outside perspective, anyway.) ResultsASAP.com ResultsRightAway.com TheOldYou.com (body building or dieting) P.S. Know anybody who is into JapaneseKickboxing.com? Or self defense? (SelfDefense.me) |
Quote:
Hockey ... My only domain is this one: OldHockeyGames.com Do people watch footage of classic sports games? As for adult domains, sure. Just send me an email. I'm just trying to keep this thread more hobby-related. For most guys on GFY, adult domains are more work-related. If you send me an email, I'll send you a spreadsheet with about 300 adult domains sorted by language and extension. |

ShootThem.com Anti-Gun.com DummyRounds.com etc. Somebody recommend this man a new hobby ASAP! Quote:

The only thing i have laying around in the non-adult section privately is a basic site that uses an amazon i-frame. I use it when i need to discuss problems with non-adult webmasters. I just replicate the problem i have on an adult domain on this mainstream domain when i need suggestions... I have many other "mainstream"-projects, but they're always linked to my "daytime"-employer, so i cannot post any examples over here :winkwink: |

I snowboard a lot in the winter. Still trying to find a summer hobby. Cars?

Most of my winter domains are related to skiing and skate skiing, with some for snow removal and coats thrown in. Some people on here probably don't know what skate skiing is. Several people mentioned running and biking, and they'd probably really dig skate skiing. Basically, during the winter, golf course owners in ski resort towns like Park City create these long winding paths around their land. Then people on a really narrow kind of ski go flying around it in loops -- like running a winding sort of a winter track. It's midway between ice skating and cross country skiing. Good exercise. 1) Bicycle Freak
2) Psychedelics freak 3) Love being with [my] kids, they fucking rock!! :) 4) Playing juggling games, especially devilstick, in my own garden, while listening to goa/psytrance music 5) Working on my house/environment with my own two hands. 6) Percussion drums, guitars: these are kinda abandoned projects since my teen age, but now, when my Home is built, I will have more time for my instruments. 7) building anti-politics / anarchist / rebel sites :pimp |

Give me sec to take a look at what I may have in those other areas. |
1-) Build an aquarium (I had 2 meters long, it is a great hobby if your life is stressful)
2-) Doom metal (I suggest you to listen Anathema while you are watching the fishes in the aquarium. ahahaha ) 3-) Tv series 4-) Bicycle (Team up with your friends and take a long journey.) |
Quote:
ElectricGuitarists.com is one that interests me. GuitarFreeware.com (completely forgot I bought that) Drums ... I've got ElectricXylophone.com on my clearance list. Honestly, I'm surprised how many call-to-action domains I have related to social issues and politics. 50-100 at least. I've let many of them go because I find few buyers with significant budgets in those areas. Lots to choose from and definitely not priority items for me. If you'd like to email me, I can list some domains that might fit your #7. As I mentioned to somebody else above, I stock domain inventory for all sorts of perspectives and viewpoints on issues -- just like a person who stocks books for all kinds of readers. Still, I'm reluctant to post overtly political domains here because that might trigger some sort of argument about politics between people. So email is better. |

Aquariums ... There's actually a lot of money spent on aquariums and exotic fish by hobbyists. I'm sure there are ways to cash in on that; and it might be enjoyable for you, given that you've already built an aquarium. Here are two that I own: FishSpecies.net PecesExoticos.com ("exotic fish" in Spanish) _____________ Metal I actually have a suggestion for you that you'll either love or hate. Don't know for sure if it's registered; and I don't want to check, since there are spies at this particular registry. Send me an email. Also have this one, which I'd like to write some content for: RockMusicians.org _____________ TV Series I've got all sorts of TV domains -- some related to the boxes themselves. Actually I own Televiseurs.com, which is French for TVs. Obviously needs to be a drop-shipping site. But I'm too busy to learn the ins and outs of drop-shipping. If anybody here has experience in this area, I can work on getting French content and marketing. For TV shows, I've got a lot too. Some samples: TVStandup.com Yesterdays.tv YesterdaysTV.com (sounds better than "reruns") Nuestro.tv NuestroTV.com ("Our TV" in Spanish) TelevisionStars.net TelevisionStars.co.uk (United Kingdom) And domains for each decade of TV _____________ Bicycle I think I mentioned some in response to someone else earlier. |
