Why didn't the Lamborghini Jalpa take off?

What a beautiful car this was... Sort of looks like a Lotus Esprit....

very nice looking car

"In 1988, after falling sales, the new owners, Chrysler, decided to end Jalpa production despite being Lamborghini's most successful V8 car to date having sold 410 units."

guess it did take off lol

I think V8 is the key figure here. Looks like no one wanted to buy a V8 Lambo and opted for the V12 models instead.

Maybe because it looks like a supra with body mods?

xNetworx 07-15-2013 10:45 AM

It does kind of look like a Supra...

For one thing it doesn't have their trademark front end curvature. It's a good looking car, but the design in general is borrowed from less expensive cars. It doesn't look like it's from outer space.

In fact, that's where I got it from. I listen to DVDs running in the background. I can only listen to something I've seen, anything new is to distracting. I run entire TV shows from start to finish... Today in the background it was Miami Vice, eposide "Phil The Shill" with Phil Collins - Phil drove the White Jalpa.
