Trial Jury - USA/Canada - Jury Duty
Many here are passionate about criminal cases and the law.
Have you ever been part of a jury who tried the issue of the facts and returned a verdict in a trial? What was your experience like? Justice system depends on jurors like you. |
I was called in for Jury Duty 2x so far in the past 15 or so years....
Its a pain in the ass.... You have to call in the night before to see if you have to show up.... First time I spent the whole day they took us from one court house to main court house to the point of being in the room with the lawyers... It was a DWI trial and at the time i was a bartender and they asked who cant serve I got up and said I serve alcohol and they lawyers tossed me... Second time I was called in it was like 4 years ago ..... I sat for like 2 hours ... and long story short I was sent home |
That's just IT. Everyone seems to complain or skip it, and don't show up.
This is a free country, we have the ability to be a part of it and people stand up for what they believe in. A friend of mine was on the jury for a very complicated drug related case for SIX months. He was really consumed in it and involved and got into numerous disagreements with family and friends over his opinions. (ai ai ai) I have never been a part of it was just wondering what others here had to say. |
I would love to do it no idea how it works here thow
