Fuck! Scammed on eBay - PayPal

Scumbags!

I sold a Bitcoin on ebay (first and probably last ever). I now realise it was a bad idea to use PayPal, actually didn't even realise things could get this bad.

The shithead has opened an "unauthorised account" case against me. Options in the resolution centre are send proof or postage.. or refund buyer.

Looks like I just lost a couple hundred $$

Feel like driving to his house (which is hundreds of miles away) and spraying thieving scum all over his front door.

Choopa Phil 07-11-2013 09:04 AM

nobody to blame but YOURSELF

nexcom28 07-11-2013 09:21 AM

Yeah I know I was an idiot.

I spoke to PayPal and they told me they do check Ip's and see if the buyer has had previous issues like this.

It might be genuine like a hacked account or something but I doubt it. Hat the way PayPal always sides with the buyer.
I now stand to lose a bitcoin and the purchase price.

Great!

Cyber Fucker 07-11-2013 10:18 AM

Shit happens.

If they are only a couple of hundred miles away file a lawsuit in small claims court.

woj 07-11-2013 10:42 AM

Does ebay/paypal even allow bitcoin transactions? Either way, next time sell them on gfy, 100x safer... :2 cents:

Dude, that was a HUGE mistake. Ebay will automatically side with the buyer with no questions asked and it dosent matter if the transaction was for tangible goods either.
And the same goes with paypal.

Weird cause I also opened a dispute with paypal against someone ... (traffic not delivered)

And result was that my claim was denied because and I quote:

The purchase was for a virtual, digital, or intangible item, which is not covered under PayPal Purchase Protection. Paypal only cover claims involving physical items that can be shipped and tracked.

ajrocks 07-11-2013 12:24 PM

smart scam! I'm sure someone did it to him and he caught on.

johnnyloadproductions 07-11-2013 12:31 PM

I invoice through PayPal, $30 a month for Pro account but I love it for emailing a virtual terminal that people can use to pay via PayPal or CC.

I've had to refund people and they try to get me to refund them again, not always sure they are trying to scam me but I always back things up with documentation and then of course the PayPal evidence is irrefutable.

nexcom28 07-11-2013 12:43 PM

Actually I have been thinking about it. They have opened the case due to unauthorised activity. This sounds like the guys account has been hacked or misused, whatever.

Why the hell should I be held accountable because PayPal cannot secure members accounts?
