Makes you wonder if the British empire had stayed together
They would be huge. The land, natural resources, etc. I doubt The world wars would have ever got going.
|
history told us that all empires fall apart one day

Canada 1867 Australia 1901 (pretty much) So I think they had shed some pretty serious colonies by then. |
And now what? They will be a colony of muslims soon. From hero to zero. Sad story.

kinda like how african-americans only account for 13% of the population of the states :upsidedow |
I think what would have been more interesting, would have been if the US & USSR had stayed friendly after WWII.
I wonder how the world would be shaped today had there been no cold war but 2 super powers being allied. |

ever since the soviets fell, the USA is flabby & shabby. :2 cents: |
Well if the British Empire had remained together the Queen would be the Queen of the World.
|
It's still an empire... Isn't that old lady also the Queen of Canada; Australia and a LOT of other countries?
|
Still nice places to visit for the most part.

The second world war is what killed off the British empire, even America's involvement was in part, designed to kill off the empire. In fact, the second world war did such a good job of fucking over the supposed winners that even today us Brits feel the repercussions and some historians have even suggested that the British should be on the losers list of the war!! |

lol wut? the British Empire was at its peak in WWI and still huge in WWII - Canada and Australia were still closely attached to the Empire at the time of WWII.
The World Wars finished off the British Empire, which people say was for the good but looking at a map of the former Empire what followed for its former colonies has hardly been an improvement - yay we're freeeeee, free to kill each other, free to live in poverty, free to rape ........ The US inherited the mess. Colonialism is a bad thing, empires are a bad thing but it's in man's nature it seems to conquer and control more land, more people, more riches. |

As time goes by countries rise and fall. At one time Rome was vast and so too was Spain.
Today its China thats getting huge. In a 50 years it may be Africa thats huge. Things change. Its only soil. I realy could not care less. |

In truth most people in the UK are probably conected to other countries. Do you think when the Romans came over they were not having sex with the locals. And the roman army was made up of africans and people world wide. No one in the uk is realy native. I realy do not care if someone has a black or brown face, and pays in a different way. It makes no difference to me. Live and let live. |

The EU showed that countries need to be accountable for what they do if their is a higher control on the money. Now it was a bailout etc but they were forced to put their houses in order. The US has not done this yet and may never until we go bankrupt. I just see it as crazy that the USA is spending so much on military. At some point the UN needs to be a real force or ? NASA is done. No one else is doing much. So at our current pace, we just keep trading paper until we use all of our resources and die off? Shouldn't the human race start to create some bigger goal? |

The thing is I can see such as Dubai tempting banks over. I know if I was a banker its where I would want to go as its so cool. |
Iraland is interesting as due to the low tax and Irish american conections, that attracts huge american businesses, such as google. And its the big gateway I think for many american countries into the eu.

Funny thing is, when you stop trying to create multiple groups, most of the population in those areas is a Caucasian majority.
Oh well, you should look at how many "indigenous" Brits live elsewhere in the world. The freedom we have to travel these days is pretty amazing when you think about it. Just remember, it works both ways. If you don't like where you live, then move. Hopefully UKIP will get the vote next election and finally stop the bullshit. |
