I was reading a few threads about Paula Deen on Reddit yesterday and there were several posts from people who have dealt with her in various situations ranging from her staying a hotel that they worked at to her making an appearance where they worked and so on. All of these people said she was difficult, annoying, rude and in some cases just plain mean to her staff and the people at the places she was at.
Now, it is the internet, so you have to take it with a big grain of salt, but I get this feeling she might be one of those people that puts on a great public persona and is completely different in private and now the curtain is being pulled back and revealing the truth.Comment

I just watched Django last night for the first time. It reeked of 21st century misguided liberalism. Lots of blood though. That was good.
There's a lot of hate and anger in Savannah. In general. I used to go ghost hunting in old graveyards, videotaping, photographing. Standing in the main cemetery downtown, near midnight was the only time I was really, really scared. Beneath my feet was a mass grave of 11,000 people killed by cholera in the early 19th century. I felt an anger and hate swell up from the ground....and experienced it from whites and blacks in most every place I went...except for the Goodwill shop.

You can't really blame her for being racist.
Racism is taught and handed down from the parents.
Of course, we have a mind and you would think a racist child could grow up and correct their own problems of childhood, but most can't.
When people stop training children to be racists, then we can eliminate the problem. When I say training, I refer to acting and speaking in racist terms. Children learn everything from their parents.
Calling out a racist is like calling out a kid in a wheel chair because he can't play baseball. The racist has a mental disability and should be treated as if they have an illness that needs treatment.
This lady's entire family is most likely racist, so she really doesn't understand her own actions.
She is dysfunctional and needs mental help.
But ruining her life because she was raised racist isn't right at all. She needs therapy, not a shit storm.
