Why does Amerinoc get so highly rated here?
 

Whenever the question of good adult webhosts comes up, within seconds there will be 2 or 3 forum members singing the praises of Amerinoc through the roof.

I've always found that a little odd, given that the control panel is weird and difficult to operate and very unlike cPanel, which is the standard for most hosting companies.

The last 3 months or so I've experienced around 40% downtime on my entire account hosting numerous sites - it would be worse if I wasn't constantly checking my sites to see if they were up and contacting support the moment they go down. However, most mornings I wake up and they have been down half of the night. Support always manages to put my sites back up straight away, but don't seem to have any inclination to fix the actual problem or monitor my sites themselves so they can put them up the moment they go down.

Most hosting companies promise 99.99% uptime.

This has probably cost me at least $5k lost income over the last 3 months alone, as well as fucking up my SERPs long term, even if I switch hosts, which I will finally bite the bullet and do this week.

BTW, I have a large network of sites hosted on 15 different webhosts. Amerinoc is the only one I have problems of this nature with.

Why not just move?

Have used them for years, had several dedicated servers before they became amerinoc that I was very happy with but I have to say my 60 dollar a month vps at amerinoc blows

Because I break out into a sweat just at the thought of having to move 80 different sites, databases, domain names etc to another host.

just ignore those spammers, they have no idea what a real host is.

I find that they are highly rated ere, simply because they are very good?

I have been with them for years, and have always been 100% happy..

They will move ALL your stuff for you... NO REF LINK - Genuine recommendation...

we are with Amerinoc from 1999 and they are good. All host say they are perfect but in reality no one is perfect, down time can be anywhere any time depend on server and load on it.

We are with Amerinoc because of the quality support service + quick response + friendly people like real friends + competitive price... What else we need.

If you can earn 6-7k$ per month why don't you use dedicated servers? only 175$...I have no problem with amerinoc's dedicated servers. shared hosting is shit everywhere..

I love AmeriNOC so much I have them in my sig. I've been a GFY member since 2003 and a lurker since 2001.

Sounds like you are on shared account and you using toomuch resources which causing server to go down.Get a vps or dedicated and problem solved.

Amerinoc (phatservers) is a very good host.

Have 3 dedicated servers with them ( one of them custom build and fucking fast )
Great service and good support.

I work with them for 10 years or so now. And will continue to do so.

Amerinoc/Phatservers is top. I only have at them a shared webspace for around 4,95usd/month (3 year term), but for a small sites it fits all requirements. And say it really, what can you get for that little bucks?

Like on every other hoster, shared hosting is always not as good as a dedicated server, so its only good for small sites.

On all other hosters, i have at minimum a vps or dedicated server for lager sites.

Like all: you get what you pay for.

But at total, amerinoc is top from support and hosting for that money and i host since years with them.

There is no doubt that they've slipped in the last few years. I believe there was a lot of infighting between owners which resulted in some management problems. I had boxes with them for maybe 10 years.

I had some trouble on a shared acc recently, site dropping for around an hour in the middle of the night their time, they went though all the accounts to find out what was causing it and solved it.

You must have tried some bad hosts if you think shared hosting is shit everywhere, my shared hosting accounts have rarely ever had any downtime and I've never had to contact support for any issues.

I did try out Amerinoc awhile back but they messed up my account setup the very first day and after that I canceled.

Only host where my Wordpress sites got hacked constantly. Had to move outa there

i usually stay away from shared, because if one user on the server has an insecure script, it can ruin it for everyone on the server, i stick to vps and dedicated.

the same thing can happen on vps. you are still sharing a server and an operating system.

You are probably right. I had a cheap dedicated server, a bit slow though. I changed to VPS that was supposed to be faster and I have problems with it all the time.

have amerinoc move you over to a different box. I had that issue with one of my virtual accounts there. once they moved it there was never another problem.

AmeriNOC is shit.

Pay attention to WHO actually suggests them.

Well depend on what kind of virtualization,it's not same when you have dedicated resources to shared resources.

Been with them over 10 years now and the only other place I would ever host at would be mojo host.. I have a dedicated and a shared server (old TGPs) and they both run smooth ALL the time.

Please stop bitching that they are always down for you and just leave cause most of us love the service we get with them :2 cents:

I had a virtual years ago at phat was fine, then a VPS long time after a few years ago with Amerinoc, they were ok, but it did have tons of database probs on wp sites which would shut the sites down. They would fix it asap when I found out tho. But I did have to notice and it's no way to do well in SERPS or sales. But they aren't too bad.

I don't use them but a friend has Amerinoc (Phat Servers) and he's very happy with them.

From what I know their VPS are true VPS, not like all the other hosting companies that have VPS with lots of limitations and "Barriers" that make them crash all the time.

Why should he stop bitching because your server is up?

You are brown nosing and you probably get less than 1500 hits per day on everything you own on that server.

but just for shits and giggles I looked up 2 domains and I averaged 62,000 visits per day.. so yup you are right my 20+ domains get WAY under 1,500 visits per day :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

i think most of the people bitching have shared hosting accounts and most of the people saying good things have dedicated servers with them :2 cents::2 cents:

Linkspun.com is hosted there and has been up since the beginning. They answer support tickets immediately.

I called the contact number for Amerinoc once. Guy was rude. Decided to use mojohost. They're great.

Ask Boneprone who he used to push here, and then see what happened to them. Or a few other hosting companies the bros liked.

This is 100% factually untrue.

Each VPS environment is it's own partition, and runs it's own operating system, as well as it's own dedicated RAM. No other users have any access to any partition other than their own.

If you are paying for a VPS, and you are sharing your operating environment with others, YOU SHOULD LEAVE THAT HOST IMMEDIATELY because they are screwing you!!

VPS is an acronym for VIRTUAL PRIVATE SERVER. You should not be sharing your operating environment with any other users. :Oh crap

VPS = virtual PRIVATE server

If you are sharing resources (especially your operating system) with others, then you are not in a PRIVATE environment, and you are being screwed if you are paying for a VPS.

i agree, never have been so unhappy (probably with servage a couple of years ago) then with amerinoc

first 8 of my sites there were infected after 2-3 month, (only having wordpress installs)
meaning the full shared account was probably infected by another user and no one did really care about

most of the domains i hosted are now burned


then my mailaccounts acting as spamrobots,
and then constantly drops in site availability with a blog that gets maybe 800uniques a day
(not hosting much more there atm)
i only pay those 10 bucks cause im to lazy to switch that last blog
even as im not expecting much from a shared hoster, i never had such a
bad experience and never would trust them hosting a vps or dedicated

any recommendations then? apart from mojohost - too expensive for me :(

Looks like they don't have any downtime notification system in place, i need to make ticket every time my server or vps goes down and then after 1 hour the fix it. My dedicated server down for 3 hours today(2 hours in the morning and 1+ right now), support slow as hell.
