How would you react if your teenage daughter - chubby or not,as if that matters - was on a flight alone and the guy across from her was jerking off to her, she told the crew and they did nothing about it? That's what I thought.

Suing? Maybe a bit much as the guy was convicted and is being punished but the lack of action of a flight attendant to protect a minor, deserves to be highlighted.

I did see the clip. What I didn't see in the clip was her saying the airline saw anything offensive. Seems that out of an airplane full of people, the only person who saw anything or complained was her. I find that odd. I mean, there was nine fucking people in her row and the only one who saw anything was her?

If this was so offensive to her, why didn't she move?

And since when is the airline responsible for the actions of their passengers? I mean, should the airplane start screening people in advance for being perverts or sex crimes, assaults, or fraud? If I walk into the local super market and start masturbating, is the super market responsable for my actions? I mean, is their staff trained to handle situations? Do they come with rubber gloves and physically remove me from the premises? Is the super market or the airlines responsable if they don't see a crime being committed?

According to the video, the airline said there was "no other seats open". What the fuck are they supposed to do? Move her and the seven other people in her to where? The bathroom? Move him where - next to someone else?

Since he's been criminally found guilty and convicted she can now sue for damages with a very good chance of winning. Good for her! Flight attendants have gone down the tubes the last 10 years. Now airlines hire the cheapest, laziest most passive aggressive creatures known to mankind.

United flight attendants are the worse. Bunch of arrogant 60 year old grandma perfume smelling hags that act like they're doing you a favor by letting you sit on the damn plane.

No seats in that class. If a child/teenager is in that situation stick her in the empty seat in a higher class.

They land planes for people making questionable jokes. People on this board have been denied the right to board a flight because of the text on their t-shirt. They arrest people off planes for inappropriate conduct relating to drink. At the very least, the attendant should have informed the pilot who could make the decision to let authorities on the ground know so they could meet the plane. Instead they allowed the crime to continue.

I think perhaps the disconnected between us is that you aren't seeing that I said I was unsure about the lawsuit. However, that doesn't mean the staff of that airline should not be called on their inaction.

If a flight attendant knew that a minor was being harassed in that way and did nothing at all then at the very least the airline should fire him. What if that guy had been sitting directly next to her rather than across the aisle and he touched her but the attendant didn't see it? Does it still become okay for him to do nothing?

Not sure about you but my parents raised me with the notion that if somebody touched me or otherwise was (for lack of a better term) lewd towards me that I could tell an adult and they would believe me. This girl had that proven wrong. So, whether the airline should be sued or are at direct fault that is one thing but she was failed by an adult when she asked for protection. That adult deserves to be called out on his failure.

I agree about that particular lawyer. She pops up time and time again and makes it hard to take cases seriously but keep in mind that this is still a young woman. It would likely be fairly easy to get her fired up and agree to bringing the case all for the agenda of the lawyer.

I just hate the way this girl is being talked about from her appearance somehow mattering to asinine comments that she shouldn't have looked. Fairly shameful.
