I just read that! So sad. My ex GF worked with him on the Sopranos :( Only 51 years old.

Damn... Seemed like a real nice guy based on his charity work, and he was an incredible actor. He will be missed.

I did not know who this was when I read the thread title. I can't recall seeing him in any movie and I never watched an episode of the Sopranos.

You've never seen Soupranos? Man, you are in for a treat.

Do yourself a favor and watch The Sopranos from start to finish. It will blow your mind.

Then watch "Welcome to the Rileys." In it Gandolfini plays a broken down, rumpled man who helps a teenage stripper out. He is the polar opposite of Tony Soprano and is flat out amazing in it.

He was the big Italian guy. That was his role as an actor, and what killed him too soon.

I read that Gandolfini was frequently over 300 lbs (although not sure if that had anything to do with his heart attack).

I don't watch many TV programs, so I never saw a single episode of The Sopranos, nonetheless, I feel like I knew it anyway, due to all of the coverage of the show, and I always liked watching Gandolfini on his infrequent talk show appearances.

Maybe it's because I just finished marathoning through the Sopranos but man, I feel genuinely bad. I usually don't give a damn about celebrities but I almost feel like I knew the guy personally.

lol, I did that on purpose when he misspelled it. I think it could make a good parody youtube video if some amateur actors put it together.

Awfully sad. His great performance as the hitman in The Mexican will always stay with me. Fuck this shit, he was too young!
