Remember the sopranos episode where he was like in a coma and dreaming of being a regular square businessman who lost his wallet? lmao... dude was a great actor...

georgeyw 06-19-2013 04:54 PM

Damn, that is really sad to hear. I really enjoyed his acting in pretty much everything he did. RIP!

Mine too. I've struggled with weight but never anywhere near his size and I have been vigilant about what goes in my body for years. Here's hoping us both many years of good health, Spunky:drinkup

baddog at 170; Gandolfini at 250?

theking 06-19-2013 05:14 PM

I did not know who this was when I read the thread title. I can't recall seeing him in any movie and I never watched an episode of the Sopranos.

You've never seen Soupranos? Man, you are in for a treat.

Do yourself a favor and watch The Sopranos from start to finish. It will blow your mind.

Then watch "Welcome to the Rileys." In it Gandolfini plays a broken down, rumpled man who helps a teenage stripper out. He is the polar opposite of Tony Soprano and is flat out amazing in it.

Matt 26z 06-19-2013 05:19 PM

He was the big Italian guy. That was his role as an actor, and what killed him too soon.

baryl 06-19-2013 05:20 PM

I read that Gandolfini was frequently over 300 lbs (although not sure if that had anything to do with his heart attack).

I don't watch many TV programs, so I never saw a single episode of The Sopranos, nonetheless, I feel like I knew it anyway, due to all of the coverage of the show, and I always liked watching Gandolfini on his infrequent talk show appearances.

He was good in LOTR too:

RIP in Goomba Heaven Tony Soprano...

No Souprano for him?:upsidedow

baryl 06-19-2013 05:28 PM

Maybe it's because I just finished marathoning through the Sopranos but man, I feel genuinely bad. I usually don't give a damn about celebrities but I almost feel like I knew the guy personally.

lol, I did that on purpose when he misspelled it. I think it could make a good parody youtube video if some amateur actors put it together.

MediaGuy 06-19-2013 05:40 PM

Awfully sad. His great performance as the hitman in The Mexican will always stay with me. Fuck this shit, he was too young!
:D

"Early reports indicate the former Sopranos star was fighting with a photographer at the time of his death
The photographer, who was not identified, was following him around for most of the day following an altercation the previous day.
Holy shit, paparazzi strikes again!"
