seems to be a power struggle going on

The Supreme Leader is still Ali Khamenei, so nothing big changes. The president are just puppets of the real leaders

Rochard 06-19-2013 09:05 AM

I don't think it's their leaders, it's their culture.

The biggest difference is how their religion plays such a huge part in everything they do. When I walk into a store I am not concerned about how if the owner is Jewish or Sunni or Pakistani or whatever. These things just don't factor into our lives on a daily or even a regular basis.

Ahmadinejad was the world's second greatest troll, after the undisputed champion Kim Jong-un.

He will be missed.

Irans people are more secular than people realize. Their government is the problem.

For instance many women do not want to wear the hijab but they have government paid fashion police that will accost you for not dressing conservatively enough.

Look almost everywhere in the Middle East and you see secularism growing. Of course the American right wing will never acknowledge this as it take their natural enemy away.

^ What he said.

Not much different from the Western World, the elected leaders are nothing but puppets.

The "problem" with Iran is that the NWO isn't the hand shoved up the puppet's ass.

I confirm that. When we were there we didnt meet a single person who like the regime - but we were mostly in the cities. Its different story in the countryside and small cities...
And there was a shitload of girls with "half hijab" on their head in the big cities...

Correct. Also, Iran has the largest percentage of population that is under 30-years-old of any country in the world. These young people want a more moderate leadership.

This new guy says he is a moderate and will try hard to work with the west and tone down the extremism, but like others have said, so long as the Ayatollah is in power this guy's power will be limited.
