How do you make embedded videos seekable?

I'm using JWPlayer and it works fine, but, you can only watch what has been loaded ... meaning if you're at 0:33 and want to skip to 1:22 as an example, you can't.

A long time ago I had that same problem and someone told me I can't fix it since I'm using shared hosting.... is that true? There must be a way :(

So I need the host to enable something on their side in order to use pseudo streaming?
But then pseudo streaming will work with most video formats?

pseudo streaming works great with mp4 coded for h.64. especially if you use a free software called "fast start" that moves necessary meta data from the back of the file to the front. some hosts give it for free, the pseudo streaming module. some charge a small amount, one time fee.

I don't think godaddy is going to allow streaming from what I've been reading :(

Good lord, I know I've always heard good things about hostgator... but their VPS looks pretty pricey... I thought dedi servers were cheaper than THAT these days??

For vps we've been happy so far with amerinoc. You can usually get a coupon or something from them for a discount. Chris and staff are great peeps.
