Man Tears...Who can handle them. Best tear-jerking movies?

I am a softy when it comes to watching girly flicks and I hate watching them. My wife laughs at me when she sees me shed a tear while watching a tear jerker. What movies make you cry? Don't lie, I know men get feelings too sometimes.

I see Field Of Dreams and I break down. It has something to do with my relationship with my father of course.

Same for me, your father molested me when he coached me in Little League.

Old Yeller is a good one. The dog, so loved and loyal, suddenly becomes a killer dog zombie. Sad.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - Fucked me up just thinking about it...

Once from left field - Armageddon... The end... Bruce should never have stayed to push that button! and then during the wedding.

I saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Brad Pitt getting younger as his true love was getting older... and here is a spoiler... her as an old woman, holding him as a baby.

"Babe"

No lie.

When the farmer says "That'll do pig, that'll do" it gets me every time.

Robbie 06-15-2013 10:10 PM

I think I'm a big tough guy...but it never fails, I tear up at damn near EVERY movie. lol

Not crying like a baby or anything. Just the red, moist eye thing that makes me look like a pussy. :)

Captain Kawaii 06-15-2013 10:38 PM

"Breaking the Waves" by Von Trier. - Amazing soundtrack and nails what true love is really about.

Good movie but it literally makes me seasick to the point where I find it unwatchable.

It's weird and somewhat beautiful, the link between human and animal. I watched "Babe" way back when it first came out, and brought it to my mother, who is a huge animal lover. She cried, and she watches it over and over.

That's a very good movie.

LOL. Camera style is not for everyone. But no better director out there. For me.

Did you watch "Melancholia"? Kiefer was quite the dirtbag.

Listen to me, it's too late for you if you're watching that movie. You will be found dead tomorrow. Spirits will visit you and take your soul.

The very end part gets me yes.

Only because I think of a certain family member who has passed...

It doesn't take a "girly flick" to make a guy cry. I really have an appreciation for when good filmmaking comes together with score, visuals, tone, etc to create an awesome film moment. Sometimes it only lasts a few seconds, but I can shed a tear when that happens.

The first time that happened to me was this scene, when I was a kid.

This is scene does it for me too. Four minutes of master filmmaking.

That's one of the only movies that it's perfectly acceptable for a man to cry at.

kane 06-16-2013 12:12 PM

Most recently it wasn't a movie, but it was the series finale of "The Office." I'm a big fan of the show and have seen pretty much every episode. During the finale I was crying like a bitch.

Sad shit doesn't usually work on me.

But seeing young kids do fucking awesome shit is typically good at making me tear up.

This one did it to me just last night.

Our family used to watch Scrubs like a religion.... The finale always made us cry. This past weekend on a long car trip the final song - The Book Of Love - came up in rotation on the iPod and we all cried.
