How Many Domains Do You Own?

I just made a bulk purchase yesterday which brings my count to a little over 300 domains. I wasn't unaware that the count had risen to that number, but when I sat down and made a document to track each domain's income, it took me such a long time to create that it hit me, that's a lot of domains. Although, it's probably still small compared to some of you.

So, I'm just curious, how many domains do you own? Do you even keep track and count anymore?

Jel 06-09-2013 10:09 AM

down to 150 or so these days

EddyTheDog 06-09-2013 10:12 AM

7 ATM - How many have I owned - Probably more than 300...

Some good regional domains over the years that I have let go - I work more with other peoples domains than my own these days.....

As I continue to work for other people instead of myself I look for automated solutions to squeeze even a small profit out of the domains I have. I will make cuts if they don't pay for themselves any more.

Dankasaur 06-09-2013 10:21 AM

34 domains.

Babaganoosh 06-09-2013 10:21 AM

I've slimmed down to about 80 from around 300. If I had owned it more than a few years and had never done anything with it, I let it expire unless it was an exceptionally good name. I sold around 60 with developed websites several years back too. $8 a pop adds up.

MediumPimpin 06-09-2013 10:23 AM

Around a 1000, give or take.

serione 06-09-2013 10:25 AM

About 50. But mostly just on parking.

I knew we'd see some x,xxx numbers. Are they all developed?

I wonder if there are any people who aren't strictly domainers that have xx,xxx numbers?

BareBacked 06-09-2013 10:27 AM

way down to around 1500 now days

I would say 95% are developed, I have never sold any so I don't buy them for that.

Sly 06-09-2013 10:41 AM

Around 1,300. 95% built.

rogueteens 06-09-2013 10:45 AM

ImLarge 06-09-2013 10:45 AM

I Think i have 257 on godaddy

247mg 06-09-2013 10:48 AM

Whats the point of having 300 domain when earning is not even covering the cost of domain

PornMD 06-09-2013 10:52 AM

Down to about 2,000. Only about 1% are adult and I mostly sell domains - only develop some.

cybermike 06-09-2013 10:54 AM

Itchy 06-09-2013 10:58 AM

If you build a site and it doesn't make at least $10/yr then you're in the wrong business. Most domains make their registration fee, and beyond that yearly if developed.

Now imagine having 1500 domains all making say $10/mo... Now you're making $15,000. Having lots of sites making low revenue seems more appealing now doesn't it?

Grapesoda 06-09-2013 11:01 AM

about 125 +/- sometimes I'll buy a domain just for the email addy like 456.bz

Pink Misfit 06-09-2013 11:01 AM

Currently I have around 1800 left. I let a ton expire and have sold off quite a few.

AllAboutCams 06-09-2013 11:15 AM

Down to about 80-90 sold a few and bought a few this year

shake 06-09-2013 11:25 AM

About 220 now, I had well over 2,000 a few years ago. I just kept the most profitable ones, and a few good names that I'd like to build up.

globofun 06-09-2013 11:25 AM

I used to have more than 1300.......now a handfull......

I remember reading in the old days that if you knew how many you had......you had not enough!

FingerPrinter 06-09-2013 11:27 AM

About 60, none of which have ever been purchased to sell, let a few good ones expire unfortunately :disgust

Sure, just register one million domains; now you're making $10 million/month. Dunno why everyone doesn't do it.

Feng-PD 06-09-2013 01:49 PM

got about 100 domains i guess

PSD 06-09-2013 02:08 PM

About 200 last I checked.

thebedshark 06-09-2013 02:09 PM

124 Here, I just dropped a few not to long ago, That weren't making enough to pay for themselves. :thumbsup

Pineapplez 06-09-2013 02:15 PM

I own google.com

$50 paypal. Anyone?

georgeyw 06-09-2013 02:18 PM

300+ 99% developed - should be 100% but not sure of that as would have to run through all of them and would rather buy more.

tbh no - I have been letting domains that got panda/penguin-ized drop (few hundred), and am mid-refocusing. Making decisions on what direction to take now etc - basically I'm adapting (as I very nearly died, biz-wise) :thumbsup

10 years ago, I had 40,000+ .coms registered with enom.
Now I have 20 domain names and mostly for just 1 or 2 websites.
