|
I think that would be classified under "her right"

I saw that on the FOX5 yesterday. The guy who went to her face and put an american flag right in front of her, got kicked out from the school. But he will be back today to protest out side.
|
Link ?
|
It was even better when the old man stormed the court in the middle of the game and waived a flag in her face.........she just about shit.
But alas it is her right , no complaints from this flag waiving American!:thumbsup |
No shit, just turn the TV off.... isn't shit worth watching anyway.
|
It's the hahahaha's right:thumbsup
(damn!) |
She had better be careful. She just made the list. John Asshahahahahas list.
BTW Asshahahahaha you can lick the dingleberry's out of my tangled anus hairs.:321GFY :boid :thefinger |
quick..get her name down...send someone over to her house to make sure she knows better than to diss the gov't in public again. Gee, isn't it horrible that she is demonstrating her freedom of expression..quick take care of her.
Oh, wait, what country are we talking about again? |
Is there a link for us that can't afford T.V.'s
|
It's her right, but somehow I doubt she really has a good reason... people who make silly statements like that usually don't know what the fuck they're talking about.
|
well, as much as some us would like it to be different, freedom of speech isn't only given to those who know what they are talking about. Would be a pretty empty board if it was ;)
|
should face the flag at least out of respect for the thousands of usa troops that have died in war :2 cents:
|
How does facing a piece of cloth respect troops?
And why is it that people who protest anything just don't know what they're talking about? Isn't it possible for someone to do their research, come to an opinion that is different than the mainstream opinion, and still be qualified to have that opinion taken seriously? The Porn Dude: Don't you comb your ass? |

you know, I know I am going to be flamed for this but the flag doesn't mean much to me. That doesn't mean I am not patriotic...I just would be equally as patriotic without a piece of cloth.
And also, maybe she doesn't want the troops to be there and risking death, which doesn't sound like disrespecting them. I don't say I agree with her (not totally against her view either) but damn, aren't those troops that fought and died fighting for her to be able to turn her back on the flag? If I was a soldier I would be proud she could do it. |

My parents have a dear friend that escaped Hungry and he has recently made a similar comment to them about the climate of the country. |
Americans have a very unhealthy obsession with their flag.
|
she had a big zit on her nose, and this guy she likes was sitting right under the flag. there was a dance that night, and she was distracted thinking about the stop light on her nose, the cute guy under the flag, her aol buddy list, etc, and in a pralyzed state of teen-angst - she didn't turn around.
|
hmmm..not a very nice girl
|
Children.... The United States Flag represents so much more than most of us will ever know...... Not only does it represent the US as a country, but also our way of life.
If this girl wants to turn her back to the US Flag, well, that's her fucking right. We do live in a free country. Because of the rights and freedoms she enjoys as an American, she can do this without the fear of being shot. I love it when people from (more or less) third world companies burn my flag. I can just picture them all laughing about burning our flag while they are sitting in their fucking mud huts with no running water and eating rice. http://www.iiimef.usmc.mil/images/IwoJima.jpg |
great photo
|
and you put a piece of cloth over helping others have better housing and diets? Couldn't you still feel the same about the US without the flag?
|
I guess after reading the replies, I'm inclined to agree with Roc the most.... she can do that if she wants... and I don't really give a damn either way....
but I agree that most people that would burn a flag... anyone's flag... are probably pretty fucking stupid. I would say to them... grow the fuck up already. Burning shit in effigy never accomplished a fucking thing. Just look at MetaformX and the GFY shirt burning incident.... :winkwink: |

that shirt IS our flag:glugglug :glugglug |
what makes my husband laugh is when you see pics of people burning the British flag. They must think it is going to upset the Brits as much as it upsets Americans but it really doesn't. The flag simply isn't as much of an icon over here.

We even keep trying to change it periodically to get the Union Jack off. Hasn't worked yet but it should the next time. We just need some more old people to die. But things are different here. We aren't forced to recite a 'pledge of allegience' in school every morning. Patriotism just isn't a big thing. Indoctrination doesn't sit well in Australian culture. We're too cynical for that. |

and the flag burning thing, thats true, when its all said and done, their the ones not under a 'real' roof EDIT - whats that picture about? I've seen it often |

Imagine the average americans reaction if some other country forced their schoolkids to engage in a ritualistic mass chant of devotion to a piece of cloth every morning. You'd never hear the end of the cultism and brainwashing charges. We'd probably be bombing them. |

It all reeks of mass recitaion from Mao's little red book. Brainwashing is brainwashing. |
They supposedly don't force you to. That's unconstitutional. In my school they made you stop if you were in the hall and take your hat off and stuff. Of course I just kept walking and when they yelled at me I just told them I didn't feel like stopping and I like my hat.
As far as the flag, I see no reason to respect it. Sure tons of soldiers have died, because our leaders got into wars and sent the common folks in. If I wanna show my respect for soldiers I'll show my respect for soldiers, not this fucked up state that we live in. Showing the flag is like showing support for the ruling class. They can suck my working class schlong and wipe my jizz up with their flag. Abuse our common asses for decades and expect us to give them banner(or flag) exposures? :ak47: :BangBang: Die ruling class capitalist pigs. Power to the hoi polloi. |
I can't believe that there are people in this country that DON'T know what that image is. Not dissing you asuna, just really surprises me.
|
And before people start flaming me saying they were in battle, their dad died in service, etc lemme just make a point.
They were in battle cause our leaders fucked up somehow. Things got messed up and the soldiers were the ones who went in to cover the asses of our retarded leaders. If I met a soldier I'd give him his props for doing the innevitable dirty work when the leaders made it so it was either we all die or the willing go in to fight and die. You don't get more honorable than that. As for Bush I'd probably kick him in the face. His regime are the ones fucking up and causing the need to send our guys out to die for no reason other than their own rich asses personal gain. |
cluck you are a moron.
|
Holy shit. This board has become a bunch of fucking morons.
Your not worshipping the flag - Your paying respects to your country, and everything the flag stands for. The flag is a symbol. The bald eagle is also a symbol of our country, but it's a bit difficult to have live eagles in each classroom. I'm proud of the freedoms I have being in the US. I have no hang ups about the US Flag. It's just a matter of respect. For the very same reason you won't find me burning Iraq's flag, or the flag of any other country - It's matter of respect. |
Rochard er.. rocks. :)
She has every right to do that. But, just as I have a right to sit out on the street making fun of every passer-by, it's probably not the smartest thing in the world. Those passer-by's that tell me off right back are excercising THEIR free speech rights. I also am running the risk of getting my ass kicked the fuck in. Just because you have the right, doesn't mean you should do it. From reading the thread it sounds like the guy(s) waving the flag in front of her were also excersising their freedom of speech by "protesting" her "protest". Just a stupid ass thing to do, IMO. -Phil |

Asuna: Iwo Jima(sp?)
Marines putting up the flag on the top of the hill of the island after one of the most bloody (if not the most?) battles in the pacific theatre of WWII. And yes, it is surprising some folk do not know that. I'm not happy with the way the country is, but it's mostly anger at those that don't value and treasure it, and stopped giving a fuck. To those I say go live in europe and have fun in the liberal mess they seem to want. Bring back the 1940's baby. :) I swear I'm an old man trapped in a young kids body. Ugh. -Phil |

Exactly!! I'll say it... "dumb fuckin teenager" Yeah she has a right to do that, But disrespecting the flag is not the way to protest the government. The Flag represents our country, not the current administrations policy's. If you do not like the freedom the flag represents... then get the fuck outta of this country, Go play basketball in Iraq Bitch! |
turn your back?
i wipe my ass with it |

Love it or leave it. No one has built a wall around our country to keep you inside (REF: Berlin Wall). In fact we have to patrol our borders to keep people out.
