Fuck Servage!!

Restricted my account for high load on the servers.

No warning, nothing and they won't even let me back up my databases.

4 Years of hosting with you guys means nothing does it?

Ferus 06-01-2013 12:33 PM

I don't believe for a second they wont let you backup your databases.

As your account is currently suspended you will not be able to take backup of your databases. To take the database backup your account needs to be first unsuspended.
Please audit your file contents carefully and remove all infected files from your account. Once your account is clean please let us know so that we can check for unsuspending your account.

There is a significant difference between "Restricted my account for high load on the servers" and "infected files"

I understand that however my files are not "infected"

We are sorry to inform you that your account is suspended for causing high load on the servers. As there are many customers on the same servers so if an account is making high load (using maximum CPU resources) on the servers we need to take that account offline for some time. This is done to ensure the performance of the website.

tokmansta 06-01-2013 12:50 PM

my sites took 12 seconds to load on servage, moved the same week.

All you need to do is remove your files, then they will let you get access to your database.

Why don't you just download the files, delete them from the server and then have them activate your account again. Then you can drop the DB content with phpMyAdmin ?

nexcom28 06-01-2013 01:03 PM

Yeah I have asked if deleting all my files would allow me to take backups but no reply yet.

I am taking some backups through Mysql but it's a pain. There are quite a few sites and lots of DBs

I'm just pissed they would do this without even contacting me first.

leg4 06-01-2013 04:06 PM

Ask for a backup to be made... any real Hosting company will do this for you.

smoothballs 06-01-2013 04:50 PM

Arrgh! are servage still going? They did this to me years ago, just because some of my sites took off unexpectedly so they closed my account without warning, wouldn't touch them with a bargepole, they are arrogant fucks when you try to explain what has happened ect and still they will not budge! Get yourself a better hosting company

mrgica 06-01-2013 04:56 PM

I dont know, but today there are reallyyyyy professional hosting services available, and Im talking about so fucking professional hosting services that has more then 100 support guys working 24/7. Why would someone go for less is a mystery for me. And the prices are great because of high volume.

What do you expect for the price they charge; they must shove 1000+ customers on each server.

Don't be a fucking peasant and pay for good hosting.

DraX 06-01-2013 05:01 PM

My suggestion is get unsuspended, backup your content and leave for another web host.

livexxx 06-01-2013 05:23 PM

LOL, Servage, LOL

bean-aid 06-01-2013 05:29 PM

I think the saying is... you got servaged. So many negative posts about them on this board alone. It is well known they do this all the time. Sucks, get your sites and run.

Same happened to me after i had been a customer there for more than 7 years, then one day after they had a massive wp-login hacker attack they banned my account for 3 days. I had finally gotten back half the traffic i lost after Google messed up the search and they gave me the bullshit. I asked to see the logs that confirmed this and they told me they was unable to show due to some more bullshit. I have had so much trouble with Servage over the years where they managed to delete my blog once a year when they had server upgrade, and i was told by the customer service it was not their problem.
A few months a go i had it and now i have a vps at webair, great customer service and i also got a great deal cheaper than what they advertise.

most cheap hosting providers give a decent experience for a low price, this was just insanely bad.

I have moved to Certified Hosting now and the support is epic. They are even moving all my files and db's for free!!

Unfortunately my network is still down though as it's a hell big job to move everything.

3xmedia 06-02-2013 12:00 PM

get a real host, don't be a cheap ass :pimp

could have been caused by someone who had infected files.

kane 06-03-2013 02:41 AM

They kind of annoyed me as well. I had a few small sites on there and was going to move them to a different hosting company. I didn't get the last one backed up before the account's shut down date (my fault).

I contacted them and explained the situation and asked if they could just give me FTP access for an hour to download my files for that site (it was new and I didn't have it all backed up off site yet). They told me they would only do it if I paid to reactivate my server. No problem. I was on a $8 a month plan so it wasn't a big deal. I told them I would pay for one month of service to get this going again. They then told me that since my previous contract was to pay annually I would need to pay the entire contract amount of $80.

I was pissed and tried talking to a few different people with no luck and finally just said fuck it. The site was new, it had no traffic and I could recreate most of what I had. It was worth spending $8 to get it but not $80. You would think after 4-5 years of being a customer they could have given me 1 extra hour of ftp access.
