If you can't build one yourself, yes then it is better built.

Mail (that comes with your Mac) is one of the main reasons I keep using a Mac... it's awesome. Don't forget to setup time machine, it super easy to use and keeps revisions of everything.

Yes you can upgrade hardware yourself.
Yes you can get them cheaper or anywhere near the same price as a PERSONAL COMPUTER.

I haven't had a virus in over 10 years either.

We get it, you fucking like WINDOWS computers over MAC computers. Posting this stupid drivel in every fucking Mac related thread is fucking stupid and tiresome.

Why don't Ford drivers attack BMW drivers in the same fashion Windows users attack Mac users?

I've never quite understood this ..... anybody should be allowed to use whatever make computer they want to .... without being attacked for their choice.

I was a Windows faithful for more than 10 years ... but now I have moved to a MacBook Pro, and I am very happy with the change ... but I don't ostracize those who use windows ...

Actually, the iMac is probably the best all purpose, all in one machine for the average family.

Yeah, you won't be able to upgrade much of anything...but your kids will still be using it 8 years from now.

This is probably the last remaining Apple PC I'd consider purchasing at this point.

No shit, you never see Mac users going into "what's the best software for doing x on Windows" and talking shit about Windows and how Mac is better.

Probably because it makes no sense.

Then stop crying and enjoy your fagbook.

Mad Mail is excellent - far better than the other mac email clients like Thunderbird. Macmail is insanely powerful, easy to use, and lets you keep it in sync with your calendar, address book, iOS devices, etc.

For chat clients I use Adium. It works well but I only use it for ICQ which is more and more rare these days. I use Skype almost all the time now and will soon stop using ICQ altogether.

When I was a new Mac user I was thinking about email clients and friends talked me into just using the default mail app and it's been perfect. I recommend just that.
