If you had to move right now and live in any city for 1 year ::

Where would you select ?

Cost is no issue. You have 1 year. And the choice is yours.

Where would you choose ??

I'd like to live somewhere a little less off the beaten track...
A country where the natives wander around with machetes and maybe cut off complete strangers heads off in the name of some 2000 year old barbaric belief system...

In otherwords, London?

It happens everywhere.

Terrorist shit is crazy people shit but people create their own shit themselves a lot.

A friend of my sons girlfriends friend just decided to celebrate Victoria day getting drunk and running out into traffic got run over... my son watched him die in hospital.

Big news story here no terrorists just a lot of alcohol.. or something.. 5 blocks from my house.

We are our own worst demons.

Seminyak, Bali. It has everything you could ever want to be happy, pricey for some aspects like drinking/having a good time but cheap as hell for everything else. I loved it there and would go back in an instant.

I'd probably go with Paris. I have never been there, but it is a hub city for Europe with plenty to do and I could easily hop trains or short flights and visit other parts of Europe while there.

Rochard 05-23-2013 05:10 PM

Honolulu. By the beach.

Detroit! you can buy a whole block for under 10k

Crazy Enough 05-23-2013 07:40 PM

Well, I prefer to travel one entire year, so I can go to several places, but if the only option is to stay one year in one place I would choose San Diego.

Joshua G 05-23-2013 07:45 PM

New orleans, as long as its mardi gras all year long.

+1 - Tokyo!

crockett 05-24-2013 12:13 AM

I'm actually going to do something like this starting around Sept or Oct this year. I wont be in any one place for a entire year, but I'll be traveling around the country until I get bored.

I'm setting up a Quigley 4x4 van that will be a class B RV. I'm putting solar and the whole 9 yards on it, so it will be self contained and go just about anywhere. Meaning I wont be limiting myself to just cities. :winkwink:

As far as living abroad.. I don't think I could limit myself to just one city. However I wouldn't mind traveling around Europe and even Eastern Europe for a year..

Welcome to my life - Not as great as it sounds I can assure you...

If money was no object then it would be Sydney or possibly Tokyo.....

ManicaMark 05-24-2013 12:37 AM

Sydney. Although I moved from London to Barcelona 6 years ago and it's the best move I've ever made.

2013 05-24-2013 12:53 AM

Everyone I have spoken to says Barcelona is too expensive...

leg4 05-24-2013 12:57 AM

It really depends on how much Money you give me for that year.

If I'm broke, New Orleans would be cool...

If a ton of money, maybe Manhattan
