WordPress 3.6 will allow video uploading...
 

I am testing Beta version of WordPress 3.6 and so far so good.

It's amazing that we can upload Video content to our blogs now.

We don't require any special plugin or strange pre-encoding or "ugly watermarked jwplayer" anymore. We upload the video in any format and it shows up as flash video in our post.

Actually if you read it, it says that Flash and Silverlight are used for older browsers.

MediaElement.js features HTML5 audio and video players in pure HTML and CSS.

You can upload your own videos to a post, and have it displayed in your blog. This is amazing and excellent news for Adult Bloggers.

I suggest you try the BETA Version. Try it, just 5 minutes of your time...

I tried it and it works amazing.

Until now there was really no direct solution for this...

It makes more sense and is more relevant when you mention the features it will have that are up to date.

I couldn't care less about this feature, if the output is only in flash. Mentioning that Flash is a fall back, while an HTML5 player is default makes more sense. :winkwink:

does it format the video aswell?

There was no solution in WordPress to upload video content and have it displayed in the post. You had to either use one of those third party solutions, which really sucked... Or encode on a side and then post it.

This 3.6 feature is an amazing solution.

If you don't care about it, then stay with WordPress 3.5.1 and don't update your blogs.

Most Adult Webmasters who want video in their blogs, will update to 3.6 just to use this Feature, because there was no solution for this before 3.6.

Haven't tried it yet, but will be interested to see how the workflow compares to batch-processing in Vegas Pro in the quality/BW I want it.

when this version will go live for everyone? that is fantastic feature you are talking about.

Would be nice to be able to upload to a third-party host right from the WP Dashboard/post editor, natively.

Mainstream, How about flicks linked from other sites? (legally) I use a plugin right now but it would be nice to do away with it.

why would you want to host the video yourself and pay the bandwidth instead of using vimeo or youtube UNLESS your site is members only and if thats the case can you tweak the video params to get the needed quality?

There are A LOT of reasons to have the video clip hosted in your blog. Of course I'm talking about video clips, not 30 minutes videos.

However, if there won't be a possibility to make the embedded video clickable (in order to open the affiliate URL), it will be barely useful for the industry :2 cents:

Lulz my own blog script have that feature last 3 years,took them a while to make it.

Just upgraded to 3.6 and video uploading doesn't seem to be included :( Unless I just can't find it.

just updated one of mine to 3.6 will check it out

so now our bloggers will be able to use FLVs, sounds great :) hope this will increase their sales
