spiederman 05-21-2013 04:30 PM

did you try turning it off and on?

Rochard 05-21-2013 07:09 PM

I've been using dells for the past six years. Not once have I ever had to call Dell support. Any problems I've had I've taken care of myself.

This past weekend I even got around to re-installing windows on one of my old boxes. Yea for me.

As much as I hate paying Apple's inflated prices, they're support can't be beat.

Funny, two weeks ago I had the best tech support experience I've ever had and it was Dell. Hard drive crashed on our office PC and after 15 min the ultra polite Indian guy determined it was indeed gone. They overnighted a new hard drive with windows pre formatted to a local tech guy. He then sits through an hour of LA traffic the next day to get to our office by the time they said they would. Puts the new drive in 20 min and our pc was back up and running not even 24 hours after my initial call. Obviously being a hardware issue under warranty is a lot easier than having a software issue, not sure I'd want to sit there with Dell's tech support for that.

tbh me too man , but this was hardware related and one of those thin ultrabooks that I am afraid to even open up lol plus it was under warranty.....

But long story short they are sending me a new one now

Indian customer service reps that don't own computers are awesome.

They sent 5 guys to swap shit out but each one seemed to fuck something up lolol also it made one trip to Dell's depot as well but they sent it back with no OS and that was fucking a mess ....

Relentless 05-22-2013 06:07 AM

They bought Alienware which always had the best support and wrecked the entire brand with their crappy support as well.

Dell machine are a piece of shit. You should go for HP. Spend once relax for long term...

dyna mo 05-22-2013 06:52 AM

hopefully, you won't ever have to call at&t support, i hope dell is not as bad as them.

bigchadjon 05-22-2013 07:52 AM

I totally agree about the at&t tech support, or Charter biz internet. Isn't grand how the residential tech support is much better than Business support? Yet it cost twice as much. lol

RebelR 05-22-2013 08:13 AM

in Canada.. you press #2 for French in the option menu. That way the call never makes it to India. Bilingualism is good for something.

Damn, that does sound like a nightmare. I'm guessing its nice you're getting a new one, but a pain in the ass to get it up to speed with all the stuff your old one had on it.
