What business would you start to cater to the wealthy people of Silicon Valley?
If you lived in Silicon Valley and there are wealthy people all around you, and San Francisco 40 minutes away which is one of the most expensive area of the US, what business would you start?
Theres lots of super intelligent people with lots of money all around you. How would you make money from them? Im asking cuz Im moving there in 2 weeks and its a thought that crossed my mind of starting a plan B if my plan A doesnt work out. thanks |
I mean if you could do anything within a reasonable starting budget: A sandwich shop, a luxury car cleaning service, a pet care service, a lawn care service, a concierge service, a tech recruiter service, anything

Spend a week hanging out in a café that they frequent. Watch what they do, watch what they buy, watch how they act. Figure out what they need, what can make their life better. There is your business.

Luxury ball washer.
Hire hot girls (or guys for those who want it) to come to your place and gently wash your balls with warm water and a high end soap. :) |

Well, I s'pose it's what you might call a family hotel, and a good many of the guests belongs to the cay-nine family. A few of the couples that can't afford dogs has got children, and you're always tripping over one or the other. They's a dining room for the grown-ups and another for the kids, while the dogs and their nurses eats in the grillroom à la carte. One part of the joint is bachelor quarters. It's located right next to the dogs' dormitories. -- Ring Lardner, The Big Town, 1920 |

there is no secret way to make money.
other then the obvious of looking to fill a service that is new and demand I would look at old school stuff. Those generally are the most resiliant and the biggest money makers. Also most people dont want to do them therefore it makes them a money maker. Like a car mechanic shop. I have a buddy who owns a telecom wiring company, installs wiring for network systems. It is a newer industry but very very competitive he has almost gone broke a few times. He is buying a paving company..why? cause nobody wants to do it cause it is not clean and glamorous. but fuck does it make money.:2 cents: |
