WP Multisite question

I just installed WP, and activated the Multisite option......but everytime I try to add a new site (blog) it doesn't make it a subdomain like I would want too.... it makes a new directory

Thanks! :)

There are few things it could be...

This is the page I always refer to - http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network

I'm with AmeriNOC and used Softaculous and enabled multisites......read a bunch of tuts on the net, but do not get why I can't fix that.....

Do it manually - It takes a few minutes at most - Follow the step by step instructions in that link - Its easier than it looks...

The only tricky bit is setting up wildcards in CPanel - Just create a subdomain in CPanel - Use star (*) as the name, that's all you need to change in the settings in CPanel - The rest you can leave at defaults...

If you still have issues get Amerinoc to do it for you - They are fully managed and shouldn't complain...

It's easy, just follow the WordPress help file, step by step... I setup mine in minutes.

Your host needs to have wildcard domains enabled, many do that by default, but some don't

most hosts dont have *.domain.com enabled in the actual vhost entry of your domain, they have to be added manually.

Problem was half solved by the host.......I still had to change a line in the wp.config.php file......but now, I'm in business....

Thanks again!
